Kainens P.O.V

I was woken up by the sound of heavy breathing, i looked up to see John carrying me to my bed.

"What are you doing" i ask.

"Your brother told me to check you and when i opened your door i was that you were sleeping in the floor so i was gonna put you to bed" (wink wink😉 jk) he said.

"Awh you're so sweet thank you" i said pulling the covers up to my chest.

"Yeah, no problem do you need anything?" He asked with a hint of concern in his voice.

"Just some company if you don't mind" i said my voice still heavy with sleep

"No i don't, but your brother might"

"Screw him, I'm really tired of him trying to dictate my life"

"Look at you, rebelling and such" he laughs and i playfully punch his shoulder

"So you gonna lay down or what?" I say and he nods i get the remote off my bedside table and turn on my t.v and go to netflix (haha netflix and swift) "Haha netflix and chill" he laughs but as soon as he does my idiot brothers comes in the door and just stares at us dumbly

"Kay can we talk, please?"

"About what D? The fact that you treat me like a little bubble girl and won't let me be the 17 year old girl that i am?"

" Kay its not that simple, you're the baby of the family and i have always felt obligated to protect you, and me out of all people know how my friends are when it comes to females, i really don't want you to get hurt"

We both turn to john as he mumbles something under his breath

"What was that swazz?" Derek asked

"Nothing D, it's just that if i had the chance i wouldn't hurt her, i mean i know that we only just met but i feel like- i don't know like there could be a lot of good things that i could do for her, i want to show her that not all of us are the same, you feel me?"

I sit there basically with my jaw on the floor, did he just admit to liking me?????

"What the hell, bro? You're almost 22 and you're trying to date my 17 year old sister? Uh uh fuck that, not gonna happen captain"

"D, I'm almost 18, legal adult over here, how would that be so bad? For me to actually be happy?" I said kinda pissed that he's trying to be my dad

"Kainen, I'm not about to let this fly"
He said trying to calm down

"Derek it's not like we are asking to get married, whats the harm in coasting and seeing where i goes? We only met today. Why can't we just chill and be friends and see where that leads us?"

Derek stood there and thought about it for a good 5 minutes before finally speaking up

"You get one shot swift, one. If you fuck her over I'll break your face, got it?"

John looked at me with the biggest smile on his face

"Yeah D, i promise, i won't hurt her"

Derek left the room and we just smiled at each other and layed back down and watched the breakfast club and soon after falling asleep.
