Abrupt ASSociate

Aces Point Of View:

It was Sunday morning and I needed my coffee, but unfortunately, to my disgust all the coffee was out at my house. Sure I could have called a maid and tell her to go get my coffee but I knew I needed to get out of there anyway. My 2 sister's were bickering about God knows what and my 3 brothers were screaming as they played a video game and it was extremely obnoxious.

I grabbed my black jacket and quickly shuffled out the back door.

The day just keeps getting better and better. I thought to myself as I walked out the door, dragging my feet through the slushy snow and kicked some up onto someone's freshly shoveled driveway. Without my coffee I'm even more of an ass than usual.

More than half way to the coffee shop small flakes of snow fell into my hair and face and I let out a sigh, watching the air from my breath make little clouds.

I rushed into the shop and I made a face as I heard a jingle of bells from the door.

I glanced around as I sat down at a table, waiting for the waitress to come. I saw a boy from my school and accidentally made eye contact with him. His name was Axel.

I didn't necessarily hate him. But I didn't exactly like him. He looked like one of those spoiled rich kids who gets everything they want from whoever they want. With his light hazel eyes and messy bleached white hair was whispy and looked untamed he seemed like every girls dream.

Axle wore a simple outfit, a stained flannel, jeans and a pair of beaten up converse.

He looked like he hadn't slept in days. Axle appeared to have had multiple cups of coffee. Not to mention his hands were visibly shaking, probably due to all the caffeine he was consuming.

The short boy widen his eyes as I tried to muster up a smile, trying not to make any more enemy's. I've got enough of them. Axles cheeks flushed a pale pink and he looked down at his coffee, pulling out a book from a navy blue backpack on the floor I must have over looked.

A waitress speedily shuffled over and I couldn't have been more happy. I didn't feel like trying to make small talk with her.

"What would you like?" She said batting her thick lashing and twirling her blond hair around her index finger.

"I'll just have a coffee with cream," I said not paying attention to her flirtatious actions.

"Anything else?" She asked smiling, showing off her pearly whites, still flirting.

"No, but thank you." I said flatly.

She nodded and left with a skip in her step. Probably trying to look cute.

I looked over at Axel and he had a sad look and I smiled at him again. He looked so upset and it was messing with me so I waved at him. Apparently he thought that meant 'hi best friend! Let's hang out and have coffee together!' And that was not what I was going for. The last thing I wanted was some short annoying boy trying to converse with me.

He grabbed his coffee, backup and book and scurried over to my table. I let out a annoyed sigh.
