"You vermin!!!"

"We don't want you here!!!"

"Leave!!! NOW!!!"

Your POV
My eyes slowly open as my blurry vision refocuses on the chair before them. "That dream again..." I grimace as I stretch my limbs, letting out a big yawn as I do. "That dream keeps coming back, I thought I had abandoned that part of me." Groggily, I drag my body from my bed to the exit of my bedroom.

Now you might think I'm in a nice house with lovely people who take care of me and eating delicious food. Well, not exactly. I'm currently in the sewers with green mould covering the walls from top to bottom. As for food, I have almost nothing and need to search through rubbish bins for scraps to eat. But on the upside, the residents here are very friendly and nice. They helped me when I was on the verge of dying, treated my wounds and they considered me as one of their own, part of their family. It may be the sewers, but it is more of an underground town because the residents have their own territory and we respect one another.

As I exit the bedroom, my nose wrinkles, detecting a very strange scent. It does not smell pleasant, and instead rather revolting. It is even more foul than the sewers' stench. Instantly, I scamper to the residents to alert them of the foul odour. I arrive one step too late.

The scene is horrifying. Green smoke envelops the entire premise, screams echoes along the tall walls, residents are running around aimlessly, panicked and confused. The residents are now on fours, coughing and hacking, some even sputtering blood. Others have already collapsed, bodies lying lifelessly on the cold hard floor.

" (Y/N)?! What are you doing here? It's not safe here!!!"

I snap myself back to reality when I saw Marmalade, one of the residents who first found me in the streets and took me in. She treated me as her sister, even though she already has 4 of them. "Marmy! Let's get out of here."

"... (Y/N)... I'm... not leaving. I'm staying here." Marmalade looked down.

My eye twitches at her response, "I'm sorry...?"

"My family is still here and I'm always afraid of the outside world. I need to be with them, you understand don't you?" Marmalade looked at me with a sad smile on her face.

I shrugged, "I don't know. I don't even remember my own family." I can even feel my ears flatten as I look away, feeling empty within me. Marmalade just looks at me with a soften expression and pats my head. "Do this for me please? As your sister? Now hurry, the smoke will be here any minute!!"

At this point, the energy to argue back has diminished. Solemnly, I nod with a "Chu" and scurries towards the other direction.

Third person POV
Marmalade stands still as she watches her adopted sister scurrying away from her. Her eyes soften, her mouth forming a relieved smile, "We're gonna miss you (Y/N)" She closed her eyes as she let the deadly green smoke envelop her.

Cries of desperation fill the dark mouldy tunnels. Little feet darting towards a nearby ladder. Green deadly smoke has covered most of the sewer grounds, slithering slowly yet closely, waiting to swallow whatever comes in its way.

Your POV
"Don't look back! Keep running!!" I keep repeating these thoughts as tears start to flow down. "I should not cry... Must look ahead..." I wipe away my tears and bring myself to a halt. That deadly smoke is in front of me, blocking my only exit. Hissing sounds emitting from the smoke, as if laughing maliciously at my demise.

"What should I do? The sewer ladder is only a few feet away!!" My head hangs low as I contemplate at my situation. I sigh," Only one way to solve this..." I get myself into position, eyes filled with determination glaring at the humongous smoke inching towards me. I take a deep breath and dash towards its huge gaping mouth, swallowing me whole.
