“No! I will not just ‘let him go!’ I love him!” I remember how I felt in that moment as I screamed those words at my big brother Ryan and ran out of the room and into my own. I remember the small stabs at my heart as if someone was shoving tooth picks straight through and out the other side.
I remember the betrayal I felt as my brother said the 7 words that changed my life forever. “Let him go. He doesn’t love you” The words replay over in my head every time I think of him. That was three months ago. I wish I was as hopeful now as I was back then. But that’s impossible.
