"Is she alive?" A scared male voice said. "I found her like this, right here."

"Yes, she's alive." Another voice, also male, but rougher.

"Well we can't just leave her here." That was the weaker voice.

"No."

Kiandra felt her body being lifted, and she felt the pain shoot through her. Her eyes shot open and she cried out, squirming and falling to the ground with a thud.

"By the Gods..." whined the weak voice.

"Yeah, Dandelion, go get help. She needs stitches badly."

"Geralt-"

"No, go get someone. I'll stay here. You never know what could pop out of these forests. Maybe what did this to her could come back." The so called, Geralt, commanded. "Go."

She heard footsteps until they disappeared, she then felt the feeling of someone staring at her.

"The cuts are scabbed over, quite possibly infected. Must've happened a day or two ago."

Is that how long she was laying unconscious on the ground? Who knows what animals or people have been near her.

"She's breathing faster... Are you.. awake right now?" Kiandra felt heat on her cheek. "Are you listening to me?" she gently moved her head, hearing a crack. "So you are. Can you open your eyes?"

She tried, and in a way succeeded, but it was all too bright to keep them open long. So she tried again, and the whiteness turned to color. The sky was abnormally blue, and the grass was a faded green, stained with red. Blood. Her blood.

The man that kneeled in front of her was extremely odd looking. Was there a chance there was a convention around and he was cosplaying someone? If so, he did an amazing job, from the chain and leather armor, to the swords on his back, to his detailed facial features. He had cat-like golden eyes, and a long scar over the left. His hair was white like snow, shoulder length, and loosely gathered into a ponytail.

"Where am I?" She asked with her voice cracking.

"Outside of Beceth." The man explained.

"And.. where... is that?" She struggled to speak, feeling weak after days of not moving at all.

"Velen.." He looked oddly at her. "Where are you from? Clearly not near here."

"New York, in the US."

"Geralt! I've brought help!" The other voice from was coming closer. Kiandra saw the man with purple and pink clothing and brown hair running at a medium pace towards them, but clearly using quite some effort. His voice fit his looks.

"We'll talk later." Geralt stood, allowing access to her for the woman who slowly trailed behind the brown haired man.

Kiandra winced as a woman stitched up her side. After a lot of thought, she assumed she was either in an Amish area, and that there was absolutely no convention around, or something weird happened to her. The woman wore old fashioned clothing, but the other man, the one with the brown hair, had extremely colorful clothing. He actually looked like he had just come out of a circus.

Geralt stood with his arms crossed, looking at Kiandra like he was contemplating things. The circus man next to her was very kind, and if you somehow took your eyes off his clothing, you could see he actually had a nice face. Kiandra learned his name was actually Dandelion, which was surprisingly fitting, and that he was a famous poet.

"Dandelion, can I ask you something?" Kiandra said in a whisper.

"Of course." He smiled.

"I may sound insane, but, exactly what year is it?" She laughed nervously.

"1272, miss."

She laughed, turning her head away so she didn't laugh directly in the poet's face. Looking back at him, she noticed he wasn't smiling as brightly. "You're serious?" Her smile faded.

"Yes.. Are you-" Kiandra felt sick to her stomach, and her head getting light. There was no way she traveled back in time. "Hey, Kiandra, are you alright?"

She was getting very sick. Time travel wasn't real. Maybe she was dreaming. She counted her fingers. Five. And they weren't blurry. She wasn't dreaming. Dandelion waved his hand in front of her face, and his lips moved, but she heard nothing. Everything was slowing down. She saw Geralt stand and his eyes darkened and became alert. That was all she saw.

"Wake up already." A rough and tired voice said. "What am I doing?"

Kiandra felt thumps as footsteps went across the floor. She heard a creaking door sound. "Wait-" She managed to croak out. "Don't go."

"About time." She registered the voice to be Geralt's.

"You stayed with me.. Thank you." She said once she saw his face, confirming it was the white haired man.

"Because I told you we'd talk." He said seriously. She tried sitting up, and it hurt her badly. "Don't move, you might break the stitches."

"Can you help me then?" And Geralt did help her. "Thanks."

"Where are you from?"

"I told you, New York. In the US."

"You're not from here.." He growled.

"I- er- literally just told you th-"

"I mean this time." He pulled a knife from his boot and put it at her throat faster than she could say wait and put her hands up. "What.. are you?"

"I'm a human!" Kiandra gasped out, staying as still as she could and not taking her eyes off the hand holding the blade. "That's all I know!"

"How did you get here?"

"I don't know! I was flying to Europe and the plane crashed and I almost died and I ended up here!"

"How could you fly if you're a human?" His eyes darkened, but actually in color this time.

"What? No! On a plane! It's something that takes you places quickly in the air." She panted, feeling sweat on the back of her neck. "I'm telling you the truth... I-I can't tell you anything else..."

"Why not?" He stated more than asked.

"There's nothing else for me to tell." She finally looked up and met his gaze. They stared at each other for what felt like hours, until Geralt retracted the knife. Kiandra sighed in relief and relaxed her muscles. "Thanks.."

"I'll make sure Dandelion keeps an eye on you." Geralt said while stepping towards the door. "I... I think I trust you, but I'm not sure yet."

"Will you be back?" She questioned quickly.

"Most likely not, for a long while. I'm going to find out how to send you back." Neither of the two said another word as Geralt left, and Kiandra was left alone in the small room.
