"Delilah! Wake up Honey! You don't wanna be late on your first day!" I groan and roll over to the other side of my bed and open my eyes slowly only just to realize what today was, "Today was the day. Today is the first day I start high school.Today is the day I officially become a 9th grader. I'm no longer in elementary school. Yeah me! But that also means I only have 179 days of 9th grade with people
I don't even know, followed by 3 more years of school followed by college. Like how can this get any better?"

Last summer me and my parents moved from Texas to California. I didn't want to move but my dads job wasn't doing so good, but soon he found a job here in Cali.

I finally get out of bed and walk down stairs to find my mom cooking breakfast. She's not only making my favorite breakfast meal but she also had my clothes laid out on the couch. I gave her a weird look and walked towards the couch to get my clothes. I didn't really like my moms choice of fashion but today she actually picked out something cute. Something that's more me.She got my black floral fringe cardigan, with a pink tank, some skinny jeans and my brown ankle boots.

I grab my clothes and walk back upstairs to get ready. I wash my face get dressed and I decide to curl my hair just because I felt like it.
I add a light coat of eyeliner and some mascara with a light shade of pink lipstick. I go back downstairs to eat breakfast. While I was eating my food I was thinking, Like what if I get bullied on my first day of school? What if girls call me names? What if nobody wants to talk to me? What if,What if,What if?
I sit back and relax and realize it's time to go.

I think to my self "Okay Delilah you got this. Don't worry everything will be fine. Yeah I know new people, new school, new teachers to be annoyed by, new everything. Something different to see you know?"

I walk over to our coat closet and grab my backpack looking back at my mom showing that I'm ready to go. I quickly walk to my parents room to tell my dad bye. I then walk outside and get into my moms car. I look at my mom and open my mouth but I got no words to come out. My mom smiles, "Today will be good sweety. Don't worry" "And how do you know mom? You don't know what it's like going to a new school. I miss my friends back home." I look down at my shoes so my mom wouldn't see my watery eyes.

I quickly walk to my parents room to tell my dad goodbye. My yells at me from the front door telling me she'll be waiting in the car. After I gave my dad a hug I walked out to my moms car. The school I was going to wasn't far from our house.
I felt the car come to a stop and I look up from my phone to read a sign that says "Welcome to Highschool! Your officially a California Bear!" I roll my eyes and put my hand on the door handle. I watch as everyone walks through the brownish/orangish doors leading into the building.

I slowly get off the car looking back at my mom as she drives off. What a good mother she is. She don't even wait to see if I make it inside, like what if someone tackled me and they broke my legs? Well she wouldn't be here to help because she left me like if this was nothing!

I start walking towards the school doors when I hear a "Hello" come from behind me. I turn around to see a slightly tanned girl that's a little shorter than me,with black hair. She was wearing a 5 Seconds of Summer shirt with jeans and vans. I smile and say "I lover your shirt!" "Thanks! You listen to 5sos to?" "Yup. Who doesn't?" She looks at me and laughs.

"I came over because you look kind of lost and confused. Do you need any help getting around?" I laugh softly and  smile at her," Actually yes I could need some directions to my first period if you don't mind. It's my first day, and by the way my names Delilah." I look down as  I kick a little rock off to the side.

I look back up at her . "Nice to meet you. My names Marissa". "Nice to meet you Marissa." I smile back at her scratching my arm. "We should get going, bet you don't wanna be late on your first day." Marissa and I then walked into the school.

When we first entered the school I was amazed. I had never seen a 9th grade with so many halls and lockers. Especially not one with so many students. I looked at my schedule to check my locker number again and I noticed that by my classrooms it had either a 1,2or 3 next to it. "Hey Marissa? What do the numbers mean?" "Oh that tells you what floor that class is on. Usually your homeroom is close to your locker."

"Oh. Wow! This school must be pretty big." I laugh quietly and look at the posters hung up on the walls as we walk down the hall. "Do you mind showing me where my locker is? It's 1058." "Really? Your locker is a few away from mine! My locker is 1053" "Cool! At least now I know I have you. And does that mean we have the same 1st period to?" "No sorry, my home room is 1 class away from yours,"but we have 3rd,4th and 7th together."

I smile at Marissa and we walk up the stairs passing the second floor going up to the 3rd. I follow her to her locker and wait while she puts and takes stuff out from her locker. We then walk to my mine which is like 4 steps away. I get my locker open on the second try then Marissa helps me get everything organized.

After we're done she takes me to my class and tell Mrs.Brown I'm a new student here and everything else. When she walks out of the class going to hers I feel so lonely. I look around at all my peers siting down talking. I turned around to see a guy with brown curly hair. I couldnt see anything else of him because he was turned around talking to some other people. I turn back around, "Okay class. Today's lesson will be review on correct grammar and punctuation,so get your pencils out and a sheet of piece." says Mrs.Brown. I thought to myself, Today isn't going to be so bad after all...I think.
