“It’s me.. Samuel, don’t you remember me?” he said in desperation. My heart sank, he’d changed. A LOT. His emerald green eyes linked to mine in a tight embrace. Like he wanted me to remember him. All of a sudden, the feeling came back. All those feelings of us…. Him… not being good enough. he’s the one who started it all. He made me feel worthless. Unwanted. Suicidal. He started it all. “w-wow S-Samuel!” I stuttered. “y-you’ve c-changed a lot!” I stated as my voice began to crack. “So whatchya doing here!” He asked before giving me a cheeky wink. “I was going to ask you the same question!” I giggled. “there’s that smile I love too see” He said, smiling widely at me. “U-hhh so anyway, I noticed the help wanted sign in the door and wondered if there’s any bar work going!” I tried to steer my mind off him, but nothing was working. “Look, come by tomorrow at 6 and I’ll start training you up!” He giggled. I gave him a nod and walked out.

Samuel POV

Wow, I haven’t seen her since I was like fifth teen. She was 13 at the time but quite mature and knew what she wanted. I messed her life up. I really liked her but fucked it up. I was in a moment of deep thought before Clive came behind me and smacked me on the back. “So who was that girl” he chuckled. “Oh just an old MATE!” I put emphasis on the word mate. “So let me guess. You were teenagers, thought you were each others worlds. She trusted you, you broke her heart with her… best friend. You moved away she’s back here looking for a job, so you offer her one so you can get closer aging… am I right or am I right?” He dictated. Fuck, how did he know all that. “pretty much” I said bluntly. “50 quid says nothing will happen between you!” he chuckled. “well mate you best get paying up. Coz by the end of this summer, she will be mine!” I teased him. As we were exchanging laughter she walked back in. “Look here’s my number just in case you need me for anything.” she smiled. “Oh yeh” I pulled her aside. “Want to go for a coffee, catch up?” I offered. “yeah, that’d be nice” she bounced back with no hesitation. “Grate, see you in twenty mins next door” I winked. She then gave me a nod and walked out of the club.” “ well mate, you work fast” Clive chuckled too me. “I get serious when it comes too money” I chuckled back, before grabbing my jacket and leaving.
