Promises break

Yet, we stay the same

Continuous in our love for each other

In this unending world of pain.

Waves break,

Silence breaks

Things fall apart

Great minds clash

Persecution lashes at our tiny bud of calm.

Day breaks,

Bones break

But sometimes things heal

Not all the time though,

Since the tiniest scar can still be seen.

Voices break,

Fevers break

We made it past the storm

But every time I look back,

I see how easily we could have lost.

Contracts break,

Potato chips break

Glass breaks

They're even prison breaks.

Still we remain the same.
