A long, long time ago, there was only Mother Earth.

She is the one who created all the life on Earth and it is she who is responsible for the creation of all the monsters on Earth, including the Cyclopes, Giants, and many others. However, this did not please her and when these monsters started to defy her, she created mankind.

The monsters laughed at their mother for creating this small weakling who had neither the size nor the strength that they did. But Mother Earth did not sway. She foretold that these “weakling men” would have the power to destroy them all and it was only a matter of time before this happened.

The monsters, of course, did not believe her. But there was one Cyclops, Theocritus, who was wary of his mother. He was the leader of his kind and decided to put an end to the race of mankind before it could barely start.

Mother Earth was horrified. The human civilisation was too young of a race to be able to do anything about what the Cyclopes were about to do and so she decided to share her power and give men her 4 elements – water, fire, earth, and air.

It was written that 4 children, two boys, two girls, would be the bearer of these gifts for all eternity, living and dying together. This ensured that when they died, these gifts would be able to pass on to the next pair of 4, generation after generation.

And thus, Theocritus failed in his plan. The first pair of 4 were mighty warriors named after the elements and though they weren’t able to destroy these monsters, they were able to put them in a deep slumber, so that they wouldn’t awaken until the next pair was born and ready to fight.

Mother Earth was happy. Now, she could rest in peace.

But this peace wasn’t made to last.

Every generation, the monsters got stronger and stronger and the 4 bearers of the elements were pushed back.

Until now...
