As Lucy looked up at the large, glass building in front of her - the big title reading FashionATA ( one more 'A' than last time ) - she came to realise that this was it. This was what she's been working so hard for. Everything in life was leading up to this point. Or the starting point, anyway.
Lucy remembered back to what her Boss said. At first, she thought she was fired. Gone. Dismissed. Ca-boofed. But then her Boss had promoted her?! How?!
Although, as she was told, there was a catch ...
Lost in her thoughts, Lucy feels a large shove from behind her, knocking over all the papers and books in her arms. One of her favourite drawings almost get stood on by a passerby and she quickly grabs it.
"Hey! Watch where you're - "
In anger, she looks up but bites back her words when she sees a familiar face in front of her. The familiar face had brown eyes and auburn coloured hair, a couple of freckles were placed around her high cheekbones, almost as if they were painted on and she did not have a happy face.
Lucy recognised her from many different TV shows. Talk shows, dramas, documentaries and she was even a host on a very famous talent show!
"Renee Jones." Lucy says almost amazed.
Hearing her, Renee looks down at her, an eyebrow raised, "Do you want to finish what you were saying before?"
"Huh?" Lucy says dazed and then she realises what the actress meant, "Ah! No, sorry. I didn't mean ... well I meant ..." Lucy trails off, with her mind still in shock from this encounter.
A moment of silence passes between them, as Lucy clutches the piece of paper in her arms.
Renee notices the paper and points at it, her face still not showing anything except a scowl, "You here for an interview?"
Lucy shakes her head, "No. I'm actually here for my job. Well ... hopefully-to-be job."
"Uh-huh. So you are here for an interview."
"No I'm not. I'm here for ... actually it's a bit confusing. Even for me." Lucy tries to laugh off the little bumping incident, in hope that Renee will also smile. She doesn't.
And on that note, Renee doesn't even seem to have an interest in Lucy anymore and walks into the building, her black heels walking along the marble floor.
Lucy can't help but make a mental note that those heels did not look good on her.
Renee was not how Lucy imagined her to be. On TV, she always looked sweet and innocent but I guess the media can't always be right. That's why Lucy never wanted to go into journalism like her mother and father wanted her too. She never had much liking for lying and twisting a story.
Lucy quickly gathers up the rest of her books and papers, making sure that they are all in the correct order. This is the one of these times where she wishes she had a bag or some sort of carrying mechanism. But no bag seemed big enough to hold all of her stuff. Either the bag broke or it just wouldn't close.
After getting all her papers. She stands in the doorway, watching as a couple of people squeeze past her and into her dream. She smoothes down the bottom of her white dress and takes a big breath.
Last chance to walk away, Lucy.
Pfft, fat chance at that.
