I woke up in my queen bed the blinds were up so I could see the orange and purple sunset making its way over the mountains and forest that I call home. As I got out of bed I put my bunny slippers on and trudged down the stairs. I could smell the aroma of grits, bacon, and toast with butter. I knew immediately who was making my breakfast this morning as a real smile spread across my face I ran the rest of the way to the kitchen. GRANDMA!!!!! I said excitingly as I threw myself into her small, soft body almost knocking her over.
What are you doing here? She put her small hands on her fragile hips and said "oh, now I can't come see my grand baby? With a little sassiness in her voice. "Of course not Grammy" I said laughing. Then she pulled me into a hug and we both start laughing. "Now who wants breakfast" she said looking over me with a hand cupped to her forehead looking like she's scanning the room. I jump up and down saying "me, me, me"! After breakfast asks to play my favorite game monopoly. "Grammy don't I have school today?" I say with a confused expression. "Not today darling your parents were worried something might happen today or you will do a repeat of yesterday. So your staying here where I can protect you". "Okay" I say hugging her then run to the game closet yelling "YOUR GOING TO LOSE". "WE WILL SEE ABOUT THAT" she yells back.
