I didn't say anything. The man chuckled and said, "He'll explain it to you later. Right now, I need to go find him... Speaking of which, do you know where he might be?"
I shook my head hopelessly. I sure did wish I knew where he was. Faintly, I heard a grunt from behind us. I looked back and saw the large man falling through the doorway. The man carrying me asked me, "Would you mind telling me what that was, sweetheart?"
I cleared my throat, "It's the big guy you kicked."
How descriptive of me. He probably kicked a bunch of big guys in the process of getting me. However, he understood and started quickening his walk. Soon he was running. He made a sharp turn along the way into a tall corridor with hundreds of jail cells stacked on top of one another. It was colder in here. I figured the heat must have risen to the top of the room. Where were we? I guessed we were in a jail house. A really big, creepy, jail house. The man slowed to look up and then looked ahead of him. "One way out now."
He ran through the room to the metal door. The large man followed us in and started running towards us. Alex's brother ran faster making me hold onto him tighter. He zipped through the door and turned left dodging a guard walking the opposite way. The guard turned and say, "Hey! Who are you?"
The large man following us came through and shouted, "Stop them!"
The guard looked at me and sprinted after us. Alex's brother said to me, "By the way, sweetheart," he continued shouting back at the guards, "my name is Lucifer, you mother fuckers!"
Then, Lucifer said to me, "Hold tight, sweetheart. We're going for a swim."
I should have realized then that we were going to jump into a freezing river. Lucifer turned right once and took three big steps before jumping. We made a huge splash into the four foot deep river. The two guards caught up but didn't jump in after us.
Lucifer struggled to keep his balance. Without thinking, I was choking him holding on to him. I had my hands around his neck squeezing him so I didn't fall in the water. He stopped walking at about ten feet away from the guards. It was pitch black so I doubt they could have seen us, and the water was echoing against the slick walls so they probably couldn't hear us either. Lucifer pried my arms from his shoulders and asked me if I could stand. I nodded approvingly. He gently set me down. He put my arm around his shoulder. It was so far up. I thought to myself, why did this guy have to be so tall. But I let that thought pass since he had saved me.
He was talking to me. I tried to listen, but my mind was so foggy, I couldn't even hear myself thinking. We started walking. Slowly. The water wasn't pushing us much, but it soothed my back. Step by step. I could feel myself getting stronger. The water washed the blood off my legs and made me feel cleaner.
Suddenly, I got really hungry. How long had I even been in there anyway? I kept walking. Strength flowed into my legs and fresh, cool air seeped into my lungs. Lucifer seemed to notice it because he said, "You get your strength back quick. Considering what they did to you and how long you were in there, I thought you would need to be carried the whole way. And crying the whole way too for that matter."
I shook my head, "I don't cry much. And the water is helping me."
He smiled, "Do you even know how long you were in there?"
I shrugged. He said, "Wow. You were in that little room for about three days. Don't you remember anything?"
I pulled the blanket around me closer, "All I remember is the door being opened. A man would come into the room and give me a glass of water. Every time, I took it. Every time, I fell unconscious and the guy would hurt me I guess. I woke up fully once and that was the time you came in... What did they do to my back?"
Lucifer took his coat off and gave it to me. I took it and put it on connecting three of the buttons on the top. I dropped the blanket into the water. He got choked up, "I'm not quite sure. Alex probably knows, but it's pretty bloody." He paused, "Was it Alex who put you in here?"
I thought about it for a second. I stuttered, "I... I don't know."
Lucifer was a nice person I thought. I could trust him. Right? We kept walking until there was a distant light up ahead. I stopped and said, "You said your name is Lucifer. Doesn't that mean 'Devil?' You seem to nice to be named after the devil."
He laughed and said, "Yeah but I'm not actually that nice. And call me Luke. Having the name 'Lucifer' is tough enough. I don't need somebody shouting my name all the time."
I giggled, "You don't know me. Do you think I would really go shouting your name all the time?"
He nodded, "Actually, yes. Alex talks about you a lot. He says you talk a lot and say his name all the time."
I frowned, "You're not Alex, Lucifer."
He looked skeptical, "So?"
I stiffened my voice, "I don't say peoples names that much. I make an exception for Alex because I like saying his name."
Luke teased me, "Oh! You like him! You like his name. You got to be in love with him!"
I blushed. Thank God for making shadows. I denied the facts, "No, I don't. I just like the way his name sounds."
Lucifer softly punched my shoulder, "Aww, come on. You know you like him. But why? He's like a billion years older than you."
I punched him back, harder. "No I don't, Lucifer. And he's only four years older than me anyway."
He rubbed his arm where I punched him, "No need to be so rough. Sorry, geez. But you denied it quickly. The least I can say is that you have feelings for him but you won't admit it."
I angrily looked at him. "Shut up, Luke." I said.
Lucifer smiled, "You really do like him. Admit it. To yourself and to me. A few days ago, when he texted you, you replied and then asked him if he could get you from school right? Then you passed out and he brought you to his house. He gave you a cup of coffee right? And then he lured you into his trap. Before it got to intense, you passed out, right? And he brought you here."
I didn't answer. He huffed, "I guess I'm right."
I was furious that he had started making radical assumptions. I couldn't punch him. He was my only way out of the damned place. Instead I just rolled my eyes saying, "Let's just get out of here."
He smiled at me, "Ok. I won't pry."
I wish he hadn't said that. Because then I turned to him and said through my teeth, "You have pried. You have pried way to much. And you accused your own dang brother of drugging me. You pried, Luke. Don't deny it."
He grinned foolishly. Despite the cool water, I was getting warm. He grabbed my shoulders and pulled me closer to him, he spoke into my ear, "I am nothing like my brother. He is a witty asshole. He traps people for a living. But now he got trapped and I have to go save him. He would never do that for me."
I tried to pull away from him. He wouldn't let me go. He looked into my eyes and I got a good look at him in the dimly lit tunnel. He had a chiseled face with perfect skin. His eyes were blue and green and they sparkled like a sea on a stormy day. His hair was about three inches long and it hung in his face reminding me of Alex's hair. It was a darker color. More brown than blond. His teeth where straight and added to his nice skin complexion. He was dirty but very attractive. I thought it looked like he had a clean shaven face and everything was perfect about it. I searched the rest of him. His clothes were all black and there was a logo that looked like a horse head on his shirt. He was lean and tall. His Converse were completely black I could barely see the laces earlier. Did everyone in Alex's family wear black all the time?
Lucifer snapped at me. I blinked a few times and he said, "You okay? You zoned out for a second there."
I shook my head, "Nah, I was just thinking about Alex."
I stepped away from him and pulled the coat tighter to me. I looked into the water sinking my feet being only two feet deep. I spoke softly, "You don't happen to have an extra shirt or something, do you?"
He sighed and searched his clothes. He looked at the coat on me and said, "You know what, sweetheart?"
I gripped the coat. He reached out and grabbed it and pulled me closer again. His face wasn't an inch away from mine. I looked at him with a stern gaze. But I couldn't help myself and I looked at his lips. He smirked and leaned down an inch. Our lips met. I was thinking at that moment 'This is so wrong. This is so wrong. This is so wrong.'
Then he slowly pulled the coat off of me and I changed my mind. He ran his fingers through my hair and I started thinking, 'This is so right.'
He cupped my face and we made out in the dark tunnel with freezing water surging across our feet. He took his shirt off and nearly threw it in the water. But I stopped him. I caught the shirt and said, "We can't have both of us without shirts."
He grabbed my hand and kissed it, "Or we could forget about Alex and leave this place and we could go-"
I cut him off, "You can't just forget your brother like that!"
He smiled and said, "I love how you protect him like that."
Saying that, he held my face roughly and kissed me. I pushed him off. "Lucifer! I don't like you. Leave me alone and let's get your brother."
I hugged myself. He tried to take his shirt back but I hugged it to my chest. He smiled. I glared at him. "This is my shirt now. That coat is soaked. And I am not walking around with no clothes on."
He shrugged, "Ok. I don't need a shirt."
I simply nodded and slipped the shirt onto myself. I hissed in. My back felt like it had just been freshly stabbed. Lucifer started walking towards the lights in the tunnel. I followed after him. We reached the opening and peered in.
It was completely open. No bars. The room was empty and dark crimson. The walls looked like they were covered in blood. It smelled like rotten meat and smoke. Lucifer jumped up and climbed into the room. He waved the smell away with his hand in front of his face. He looked at the ceiling and said, "It smells fucking terrible in here."
He came back to the entrance and pulled me up. I cringed when the smell hit me full on. I walked to the wall while Lucifer spoke, "I wonder what they do in here."
I touched the wall. My eyes widened and I tackled Lucifer to the ground. "Darts!"
Spikes about the size of half my arm whistled past my ear. About thirty of them flew by us missing us by centimeters. I slowly picked my head up. As I stood up, Lucifer stood up next to me. I heard a spring trigger. I searched the room for the noise. A click followed soon after. My heart was pounding. I didn't realize what was happening until Lucifer stepped in front of me. It all happened so fast. Lucifer sank to the ground and slowed his breaths. I panicked. Blood was staining my hands from me trying to find the spike that impaled him. Lucifer grabbed my hand. "Go on without me. Find Alex. Escape with him."
I shook my head, "No way. I'm not leaving you here to blend with the smell after you rot."
He smirked. I frowned, "I am going to fix you. Seriously."
He tried looking at himself but his head just fell after a moment. "Get out of here." he said.
I found the spike. "No." I said. I pulled as hard as I could and yanked the spike from his lower abdomen. He grimaced and put his hands to his wound. I ripped off a part of the shirt that I was wearing and tied it around his waist with a knot putting pressure onto his wound. He held the fabric tighter trying to lean up. I helped him and we eventually were both standing with his arm around my shoulder and my arm around his waist.
He tried to step forward as I did and faltered. I hefted him up so he didn't fall. He clenched his fists. "Are you sure you can handle me?" he asked.
I simply nodded saying, "I can handle anything."
He glanced at my back. "I know."
I took another step and he followed. We walked to the wall. I put my hand out to feel a handle. The wall was so slippery. I dragged my hand across it until I found a small hole. I wiped the muck from the hole and felt around it. Then I felt a very small switch. I looked around the wall.
I put my hand on the switch and said, "Do you have anything small on you?"
He dug in his pants pocket and brought out a small pick. He handed it to me saying, "This is what I used to unlock the hall-door to get to the room you were in." I took the pick and jiggled it in the small hole. The switch flipped and a small crevice opened in the wall.
I took the pick out saying, "It's our lucky day."
He blew out, "Yeah, for you maybe."
I rolled my eyes, "Just help me open the stupid door."
We put our hands onto the crack on the wall and struggled to open it. After a few seconds of pulling at it, Lucifer sighed and said, "It's no use. With me like this, we can't open the door."
I shrugged. "It's worth a shot... you stop trying. I'll open it."
He looked at the door and smiled. "If you won't give up, I won't give up either."
He put his hands in the crack again and we started pulling at it again. The large door was stiff so it took us about five minutes to open it a few inches. In the process, we wiped off most of the muck on the door and saw that it was mahogany colored and it had and inscription at the top saying 'Sewer entrance. Raw meat disposal'
That really explained the horrible smell and why the place was covered in blood, but it didn't answer why the hell there was spikes planted in the walls. We stopped pulling at the door and took a break. Lucifer started talking, "When Alex was a little boy, our parents were harsh. I would constantly run away and leave him with them. I was a terrible brother."
I put my hand on his, "No, you're not. Look at what you're doing for him now."
He smiled gently, "What I'm doing right now won't fix everything between us. He may be a terrible person now but it's because of me. Our parents were always fighting and throwing things. Alex would take the blame for everything I did. One time, I went out with my friends and Alex followed me. It was horrible. He was thirteen and I was seventeen."
I looked at the ground, "So you're twenty-one now then?"
He nodded. I said, "What happened that time?"
Lucifer put his hands to his face. "Well, I went to jail and he was dragged in with me. He was mad at me for a really long time afterwards."
I stiffened, "Why did you go to jail?"
He paused. "I tried to break into someone's house and I..." He cleared his throat, "I... um. I killed someone."
In my head I thought, 'oh, my God. What have I gotten myself into?' Instead I gave him my softest tone, "What happened to make Alex go with you?"
He sighed, "Ah that kid. He was with some of my friends and they coaxed him into drinking with him."
I huffed, "Why would you have friends like that?"
He pulled his hand away, "I was just like them. Only, I was worse."
I stood up. He continued, "Alex has only gotten worse since that night. He started going out every night and he flunked school. He had a ton of hook ups and he dumped whoever the poor girl was every time."
I looked at him. He was hugging his knees looking at the wall behind me. I said, "Alex never showed this side to me. He never showed me that he did drugs or drank or even had a girlfriend."
He smirked, "Wow. He must actually like you."
I rolled my eyes, "So has he gotten better since he was a kid?"
Lucifer carelessly shrugged, "My brother would've never been bad if I hadn't been there for his life. Estelle, he was literally abused by my parents and I never did anything about it. He became an alcoholic because he followed ME that night. He started rebelling the government and our family because I brought him places and we committed crimes. He got into it and started carrying weapons with him everywhere. Everything bad about him was because of me. For about three years after that night in prison, he was depressed and he would do drugs and drink to make himself feel better. He used every girl he got hands on. He is an ass because I made him that way."
I thought for a second. "So he's nothing like you, huh?" I said.
I stood in front of him for a few minutes. I broke the silence with, "Why did you say my name?"
Lucifer pushed himself up a little more. "Alex told me what you would do if I ever said your name."
I raised my eyebrows, "Oh, yeah? And what was that?"
He ran his finger through his hair. "He said you would, and I quote, 'Fuck my ass up.'"
OH! I wanted to kick his face at that moment. I was so mad. I wanted to gut him and throw him in the sewer. But I didn't. I merely clenched my fists. I sat back down next to him. He stared at me for a moment.
He said, "You look like you want to murder me right now. Why don't you like it when people say your name?"
I glared at my hands and gritted my teeth. "You better not fucking laugh."
He dragged his finger across his chest, "I promise."
I started, "This sounds ridiculous but when I was in second grade, the school was having a field day where we played games and stayed outside all day. The whole second grade wanted to play Red Rover. I had never heard of it and never played it. So naturally I agreed to play it so I didn't get left out. You know how the game goes. They shouted my name. The whole grade shouted my entire name. I didn't know how to play so I ran away crying. Ever since, I have hated it when people say my name because it reminds me of that awful day."
Lucifer smirked. I glared at him, "You better not laugh."
He grinned foolishly and bellowed his laughter. He slammed the floor laughing so hard. You know that laugh where you don't make any noise and you can't breath because it's so damn funny? Yeah, that's what he was doing. But I couldn't help myself and I started laughing too. Laughter is really contagious for me. I stopped laughing after a minute and he was still laughing. I chuckled and elbowed him gently. "C'mon, man. Stop laughing. It's not that funny."
He shook his head, "No, you're right. It's not. It's just stupid."
He put his hand on my shoulder laughing. I pushed it off. "Dude, seriously? I was in second grade. I was really shy and that literally scarred me."
He sniffled, "Ok. I'll stop."
He stopped for a moment then burst out again. "I'm sorry! I just can't help it! Why didn't you just run over? Why is this affecting you so much?"
I shrugged. "It just does."
He snickered. I smirked saying, "Fuck you."
He raised his hands defensively, "Sorry. I'll stop this time. Seriously."
"Hmmph," I sounded, "Yeah right. How did we even get to this subject?"
He shrugged. I thought about Alex and how he acted. It always seemed like something was constantly at the back of his mind but I never thought too much into it. I asked him, "So why did Alex not tell me about any of this?"
He shook his head, "It's probably 'cause he didn't want you to know how he really is. He probably wanted you to think he was this pure innocent guy that was really sweet all the time."
I nodded, "Sounds possible... But why me?"
Lucifer sighed, "Do you really want to hear this?"
I raised my chin and took a breath, "...Yes."
He inhaled deeply, "Ever since Alex met you, about a year back, he has gotten way better. He stopped drinking and smoking. He stopped defying the laws and started helping other people. As far as I know, he hasn't done drugs for the past year. It's like when he met you, he became a new person. He was happier. He would randomly bring up a conversation you guys had, or he would tell me that his life is worth so much more now. It was really weird for him to be sober because he's really smart and he constantly gives me facts and opinions and talks about his new friend, you."
I realized I was smiling. He continued, "I left for good when I was eighteen. By then, our parents were divorced and Alex lived with our grandmother. He was fourteen when I left. But I got calls pretty much every day from Gran or from his school about something bad he did. I baled him out of jail a few times. I had a solid relationship. When I left, things changed for me. I had a kid with my girl. We moved in together. Everything was perfect for us."
I blanked out for a moment, "You had a child?"
He nodded. I was confused, "And?"
He made a sour face, "And then she met Alex. They met when he was drunk. He was young but he was still witty and charming. He was fourteen... How she fell for him, I have no idea."
My head was having a tough time taking it all in. I said, "So Alex stole your girl?"
He lowered his head, "Well, not exactly. He had no control over his senses. I doubt he even remembers it. He got her drunk and they smoked together. I tried to make her stop and make Alex leave, but neither of them wanted him to. I put my son to bed... Alex put my girl to bed."
I winced, "What do you mean?"
He looked at me, "He took her to bed. He betrayed me. She betrayed me."
I took his hand, "Luke, I'm sorry."
He gripped my hand back, "It's fine. She came here. Alex brought her here. That's how I knew what Alex did to make you come here."
I had a flashback to when he kicked the large man saying 'And that's for hurting my girl!'
I asked, "Is that the girl you kicked that guy for?"
He raised his eyebrows, "Huh?... Oh, right. Yeah. She came here and I kicked that guy for hurting her. Yeah, we're through now. She's back at home. She was here a long time ago. I just didn't like what they did to her. When she got out of here, it wasn't because I saved her. It was because Alex got her out. He persuaded his boss to let her go since she had a son. Apparently it worked. Because she came home, packed her bags, slapped me once without any words, and took our son. Now she's living in her own apartment finishing college and sending our son to daycare every day. I haven't seen her for three years and I still don't know what I did wrong."
"I don't know what to say, Luke."
He softened his tone, "You don't need to say anything. It's not your problem."
I put my hand on his shoulder. "I know it's not. But you can't bottle things up. It's okay to talk about your problems."
He closed his eyes and leaned his head against the wall. "Thank you, Estelle."
I pulled my hand off his shoulder and stepped back. "It's my pleasure."
I started to pull my hand away. He didn't let go. He looked into my eyes. Do I have to say how fast my heart was beating at that moment? Looking into his eyes was like looking at years of experience, sadness, and anger.
He let go. "Honestly. Thank you." he said.
I smiled, "I know."
He continued, "So now she's gone. My son is gone. My brother still practically hates me. And I am saving someone he loves for him. And with you in his life, he is a much better person."
I put my hands on my hips, "You say that a lot."
He raised his eyebrows and said, "Because, sweetheart, it's true."
He pushed himself against the wall again and tried to stand. I thought 'you know, he may be an ass sometimes but he's pitiful.' So I stepped over to him and helped him up. I supported him as we opened the door further. After three minutes of inching the door open, I heard footsteps. They were getting louder. I touched Lucifer's shoulder.
I whispered, "Stop."
He gave me a confused look and stopped pulling the door. He leaned on me and put his head closer to the door. Distant shouting came from behind the wall. I stepped back dragging Lucifer with me.
The steps were closer. I heard someone shout, 'stop!'
Then I heard someone familiar shout, 'asshole!'
Banging on the door. Dust fell from the ceiling as the door was pushed in. I pushed Lucifer back. The door swung open with a cloud of dust and dirt surrounding us. Someone shouted again, "Hey, you! Stop!"
Then the familiar voice said, "Goodbye, fucker!"
The man who said it slammed the door closed with ease and flipped the switch. He rushed to us and put his hands on Lucifer's shoulders, "My brother, you are an idiot."
I opened my eyes and threw myself at the man. "ALEX!" I shouted.
He patted my back and I winced, "Ouch."
The dust settled and Alex looked at Lucifer. He turned him around in a slow circle as he inspected him. He said, "Jeez, Luke, what did you do to yourself?"
Lucifer put his hand on the fabric. He said, "I got stuck with a dart thingy. And then your girlfriend saved me."
I pulled my eyebrows together, "I'm not his girlfriend."
Alex looked at me. He breathed in and grabbed my hands in his. "Estelle, I am so sorry. I never meant any harm I caused."
Lucifer suddenly got mad and punched Alex in the nose. My instincts kicked in and I yelled, "Now what'd you do that for?" and I punched him back.
He leaned onto the wall and directed his words to Alex, "Bro, what the fuck is wrong with you?"
Alex rubbed his nose and said, "Nice to see you too, brother. What did I do this time?"
Lucifer sighed, "Dude, don't say that. She already knows."
He glared at Lucifer, "You told her?" he yelled.
I chimed in saying, "Yes, Alex. I know your past. What happened. What you were. What you did. What your parents did... But most of all. How you changed. And why you changed."
He looked from me to Lucifer to the ground, "I'm sorry."
I went up to him and hugged him. "Don't you ever ever apologize to me, Alex."
He gently hugged me back putting a hand on my head. I felt safe in his arms despite the things he had gotten me into. As I pulled away he inspected me, "Where are your clothes?"
I looked at my feet. "I was actually hoping you might know."
He nodded and said, "Well I happen to know where we might get some... If you don't mind, I'd like to see your back."
He looked at Lucifer saying, "Are you okay with him seeing you?"
I shrugged, "I mean, he saved me and he gave me his shirt. He already knows what I look like."
Alex pursed his lips and looked at me. He turned me around and gently pulled my shirt off. I supported myself on the wall while he looked at my back.
Lucifer sank to the floor while Alex looked at me. He asked, "Do you know what they did to you?"
I shook my head, "No."
He ran his fingers softly down my back. I clenched my fists. He said, "They put bugs on your back... To make you suffer. The bugs would go into your skin and burrow. They were very small. They nested in your skin and laid eggs. When the eggs hatch they would come to the top of your skin and eat it. It causes blisters and it strips you of your skin. It's typically used to get answers from somebody, but I think you must be special. The boss probably liked watching you get hurt. It takes a while to heal, but you should be fine and end with no scars. If Lucifer hadn't gotten you out, more of these would've been put into you and you would have no skin if you stayed in there for a week or so."
I shuddered. I wish I had a mirror, but I think if I had one, I would be to scared to look in it anyway. Then I said, "Alex, who is the boss?"
He turned me around. "He is a bastard. I won't tell you anymore about him until we're in a safe place."
In saying that he put the shirt back over my head. He helped Lucifer up. He felt Lucifer's abdomen around the wound. He said, "This is going to need stitches."
Lucifer rolled his eyes, "Do you really think I don't know that?"
Alex playfully punched him, "C'mon, man, let's get out'ah here."
Lucifer smirked. I grabbed Alex's hand, "No tricks, no games. Just out of this awful place."
He squeezed my hand, "No more tricks. Ever. I promise."
I kissed his cheek. He smiled and pulled me closer to the opening into the sewer. He motioned to Lucifer to follow. He limped over to us. Alex looked at us, "Luke, I'm going to jump down. When I'm down, help her down and I'll get her. Then, I'll help you down."
Lucifer nodded and Alex jumped into the water. He held his hands out as I sat on the ground and Lucifer gently held me. Alex grabbed my waist saying, "I've got her. Let her go."
Lucifer let me go and Alex lifted me and put me into the water next to him. I leaned on the wall with my shoulder while Lucifer sat down. He swung his legs over the edge and Alex said, "Be careful, brother."
Lucifer pushed Alex's hands away from his legs. "I'm fine."
Alex put his hands back on Lucifer's legs, "No you're not. Let me help you."
Lucifer raised his voice pushing away Alex's hands again, "No, dude, I got this. I can handle myself."
Alex started to put his hands back. Lucifer shouted, "Don't touch me!"
Alex put his hands up. "Okay, fine. I won't help you."
I put my hand on the edge saying, "Guys, stop fighting. Just let him help you down, Luke."
I closed my eyes. It was getting harder for me to breath. I felt heavier as though rocks were weighing me down. My vision was crazy. I was seeing double of them. Alex turned to me, "Are you okay, Estelle?"
I slumped down and my hand slipped from the edge. I breathed out, "Why did you say my name..."
He sloshed over to me and supported my face with his soft hands. I was so tired. I felt the water current around my feet. I remembered the day I met Alex. It was at a party. He came into a conversation I was having with someone and since I was talking low to the guy I was talking with, Alex came up and said, 'I'm not disrupting anything, am I?"
That night that I met him, he seemed so perfect and sweet. All we did was talk and I felt like I knew him.
Now, he seemed like a totally different person. Now, I really knew him. He seemed even more considerate and sweet.
My eyelids grew heavy and I had trouble keeping my eyes open. I took a small breath and said, "Help each other...please."
I fell asleep in the water. Before I was lost, I barely saw Lucifer jump down from the room and splash to me. Alex was rubbing my face and pushing the hair from my face. I heard him say, "I can't lose you.... stay.... awake......Estelle....."
His voice echoed in my head. I fell into my mind. I woke up in a field. It was sunny outside and a nice breeze cooled me down. The grass rustled around me. It smelled of Lavender and freshly cut grass. I leaned up. I had a nice, white lace dress on. I looked around. All I could see was hills covered in grass. I stood up. A hand gently touched my shoulder. I turned around.
He grinned. I stepped back. "Who are you?" I asked him.
He looked up and down my body. His hair was black and looked smooth. It was split at one side so it covered half of his face. His clothes were strangely appealing to me. A trench coat was nearly touching the ground on him. He had a white button up under what looked like a black leather jacket zipped up halfway. His black leather jeans hugged his legs making him look thinner. Black boots covered where his ankles would be and stretched up nearly halfway on his calves. His ears were pierced. The left had a diamond hanging from it and three black beads on the top with a silver ring piercing the top. The right ear had two rings on the lobe and two black beads on the side. He had snake bites on his lips and black eyeshadow.
He moved his hand from my shoulder to my face. It got darker. The field once around me slowly turned into a dining room. A small table stood next to me with two chairs sitting at it. A white table cloth stretched across the wooden table. One white candle sat on the table slowly melting with a small flame flickering on the wick.
