"Bacca, Mitch is waiting for you at the villiage gates. He also brought you an iron axe." The elder looked down at the fluffy animal.

"Okay, thank you." Jerome scratched his head.

"Go, young bacca." The elder looked at Jerome and smiled.

Jerome ran to the door.

"Thanks again." Jerome smiled.

"No problem." Jerome ran out the door.

"MITCH!" Jerome ran outside of the villiage gates.

"Jerome! You're okay?!" Mitch hugged his furry friend.

"A bacca can withstand a slash in the 'ol arm." Jerome smiled.

"Well, we cleared out some of the zombies while you were resting. The villiage should be safe now." Edgar smiled.

"Fluffy, I'm sorry for trying to hurt you, I don't trust that many people...well in your case, bacca's." Quentin looked at Jerome with a sorry face.

"It's okay. I understand." Jerome laughed.

"We need to have a walk in the forest, just me and fluffy." Mitch grabbed Jerome's arm.

"Jerome, we need to talk--"

"I know. I need to leave the villiage." Jerome looked at Mitch.

"No. All of us." Mitch looked in Jerome's golden eyes.

"Why all of us? I'll be fine alone--"

"NO. No you wouldn't. You're still young, and if we loose you, I'd be...broken." Mitch looked at Jerome.

"Mitch. I'm sure we'll meet up." Jerome shuffled his paw on the ground.

"No, Jerome..." Mitch sighed.

"Please..let us come with you." Mitch looked at the ground.

"No, you have to stay. I'm a bacca. I can smell for 2 miles away." Jerome smiled as he hugged Mitch.

"I'll never forget all you've done for me..." Jerome looked at Jason and then Mitch.

Jerome ran into the forest on his four paws as Mitch stood, watching.

"B-bye Jerome." Mitch wiped a tear from his face.

Mitch walked back to the villiage and into his house.

"Mitch? What's wrong?" Jason looked straight into his eyes.

"N-nothing." Mitch looked away.

"It's Jerome, isn't it?" Jason walked beside Mitch.

"I need to know he's safe. I have to." Mitch sighed.

"Lets go then." Jason looked straight at Mitch.

"B-but we can't--"

"Mitch. Stop it. We're going." Jason grabbed his arm.

"What about Quentin!" Mitch ran over to Quentin's room.

"MITCH." Jason said with a frown.

"Fine. Lets go." Mitch opened the door.

Jason and Mitch travelled outside of the gates and into the forest.

"Jason. If you hear Jerome's bacca cry, tell me." Mitch looked through the trees.

***

Jerome sat on the sandy shore.

'I wish Mitch came. I shouldn't have been so selfish." Jerome punched himself in the head.

"I think I see him!" A familiar voice called.

'Oh no!" Jerome ran to the nearest tree, and jumped ontop of it.

'That. Was too close." Jerome panted.

"Did you see that bacca?! It was sitting right here!" The voice called.

"Jon, you're never going to get a bacca! Especially just for it's fur." A second voice called.

'Poachers.' Jerome frowned.

"Ben, it's worth a try. My villiage will be proud of me for killing a bacca." Jon looked at Ben.

"Still, they can hear from over 4 miles away!" Ben looked around.

"I don't care. I'm getting that bacca today." Jon sighed.

'Stupid poachers.' Jerome ran across various tree-tops.

Jerome stopped on a tree.

'I hope Mitch wouldn't kill me for my fur...he's always saying how soft it is.." Jerome sighed.

'Why can't I just have a normal life? I want to be able to have friends like Mitch and Jason...'

***

"Okay, lets set up camp here. We can continue in the morning." Jason grabbed an axe.

Mitch looked at his axe and a tear rolled down his cheek.

"I can't stop. You make a fire, I'll go looking on some tree-tops." Mitch climbed the tallest tree he could find.

"On it." Jason grabbed a torch and some wood.

"JEROME!" Mitch called from ontop of the tree.

***

"JEROME!" Mitch called.

'Seriousley! I have poachers, now Mitch?!' Jerome shook his head.

'Not now!'

***

"Wake up Mitch!" Jason shook his friend's arm.

'Whaa--" Mitch looked up.

"WHY ARE YOUR HANDS BLOODY?!" Mitch shouted backing away from Jason.

"Oh, it's from killing cows, we needed food, right?" Jason sighed.

"Sorry for frightening you."

"Oh. It's alright. Biggums." Mitch looked out the window of their dirt house.
