Troye had gut instincts. You know those things that come randomly out of nowhere to come and call you out to make some crazy, insane decision? Yeah, those things, Troye had a lot of them. And while these decisions may seem completely out of control, stupid, "off-the-rails" even, generally, for some unknown reason, they work out. I feel like a lot of people are too scared to go with what their gut feelings tell them but they really should. Most of the time they end up leaving you in some insanely awesome situation that you never would have seen coming. Troye was always one to follow his gut instincts, without them he wouldn't have been living in this little town in the first place, without them he wouldn't have met Connor.
So of course when he felt that familiar calling need in the pit of his stomach was telling him to head over to that stupid boy's apartment, it wasn't long before he found himself chasing doubts across those untroubled streets towards the home of someone who he thought he had written off.
The apartment didn't have its normal open and warm atmosphere that day, instead it was closed off, locked up, like a shut down factory that was out of bounds. Just standing outside the door, Troye felt like ice had ripped through his veins, he was so still. He had come there with determined plan made up in his mind but yet, now he was there staring down the white washed walls, he was clueless.
Strangely, he found himself reminded of Sam. Don't misjudge that idea, in no way did he think himself or Connor were even remotely like Sam but it was that closed off, confused feeling that anyone else who interacted with Troye in that time had felt. His sister, Sage, had once described it to him after Sam and him were completely over. She told him of all the guilt and the questioning and the worry but how, in the end, that didn't matter. Her feelings in that situation were irrelevant and she knew that. After all, it wasn't her that was being hurt and it was with that in mind, Troye
