Author's note: Unfortunately, I do not own any of the characters from the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series or the Heroes of Olympus series. They both belong to Rick Riordan. I'm just writing this for fun. I hope you enjoy. :P

Percy's POV

I sighed as I packed the last things in my bag. I checked that I had everything. Toothbrush? Yup. Spare underwear? Check. Emergency phone? Got that. Skateboard? Of course. And Riptide, my lethal ball point pen was in my pocket. It wasn't that much, but everything else was in the car already.

I slung the bag over my shoulder and was about to leave my room when Nico, my younger cousin, appeared in front of me. He was in his usual get up, black jeans, black shirt, black shoes, his too small aviators jacket and his black sword hung off at black belt at his waist. He likes black.

"Nico! How many times do I have to tell you? Use the front door like a normal person and stop shadow traveling into my room!" I scolded him.

He sighed. "I'll remember someday, Perc."

I heard the door bell ring and Mum's voice telling me to go get it.

I turned the Nico, " that's probably Jason, going through the front door, like a normal person."

"Or one of our dads," Nico said.

"Let's hope not."

Turns out, it was Jason, as I'd said. We greeted each other warmly. Although we may be cousins, we acted more like brothers. Our dads, however, we're another story. Which I guess was why our Aunts were forcing us into this trip. I noticed Jason's large amount of luggage and suggested we go down to the car. When Jason say my car, the look on his face was way beyond jealous.

"THIS is your birthday present? This?" He asked, almost spluttering.

I smirked. "Yup, ask Hermes for one. Although you'll have to go on a super dangerous quest for a week and almost get killed numerous times."

"It'll be worth it! Where can I find Mercury?" He said, enthusiastically.

"First, we have to get through this super dangerous, time consuming quest where we will probably almost die a thousand times," Nico pointed out.

Suddenly, all the enthusiasm drained out of Jason's face as we remembered what we were doing for the next fortnight of our lives, living with our dads in a mansion on the outskirts of New York, who were bound to kill us in one of their petty fights.

Then our fathers, Poseidon, Zeus and Hades appeared in front of the doors of my apartment building. We glanced sideways at each other before following them. Mum let them in and the three gods glanced around expectantly.

With a frown, Poseidon asked "Sally, where is Percy?"

"The boys went out to Percy's car to pack Jason's things, I believe. They should be back any moment." My mum replied.

We stepped inside.

"Actually, we're right here" I said.

The brothers turned around.

Dad was about to say something, when Paul, my step-father, walked in.

Looking up, he said "oh, you guys are going off now, are you? Well, have fun. Oh, and Percy, remember your homework."

I suddenly started panicking. What homework? I didn't remember getting any homework.

Paul saw my face and laughed. "I was only joking Percy, don't worry."

I let out a huge sigh of relief and relaxed.

That was when my two cousins burst out laughing.

I turned around with a frown. "What?"

"You should've seen your face!" Nico said between laughing.

"You looked like the world was going to end," added Jason.

I crossed my arms. "We'll I'm sorry is homework terrifies me."

"Want me to tell Annabeth that?" asked Jason.

I shrugged. "She already knows. Now come on, we gotta go before the traffic gets to bad."

We walked back out the door, Nico still laughing at my fear of homework. It's a very minor fear, so I don't really understand what's so funny.
