The carnage that Ichigo had left was catastrophic.

The Head Quarters of the Hunters was completely destroyed, and more and more Hunters were flooding in with reports of vampire activity.

"He's almost here.." Shiro whispered in understanding, Kei stood beside him, being his father's support by letting the albino lean on him.

"You mean mum's father, don't you?" Kei asked, but he felt as though he already knew the answer to his question.

"You should know about him, you were up with the bog shots for a time." Shiro whispered, "Ichigo's father, the king of the damned."

The two stood silent for a moment, they were still trying to recuperate; they had been out for at least a day under all the ruble. Shiro still didn't know how he and his son made it out from underneath the crumbled walls. The last thing he remembered was seeing the walls fall around him, Ichigo leaving with the devil's daughter, and someone calling him.

"Shiro-nii!"

The voice echoed through his mind, racing around, eluding his memory.

'Why can't I remember...'

Blonde hair.

'Come on..'

Blue eyes.

"Shiro-nii!"

Shiro's head spun around when he was called, and into his view came the young hunter, Jay.

In an instant, Jay's figure changed to that of her older sister; Kaitey.

His eyes widened considerably.

Why had he not thought of her sooner?

But..

She's dead..My brother had killed her..

Now that he thought about it, she had been wearing her collar still, the one that gave her her Neko abilities.

Which meant..

Shiro felt as though her were going to pass out, "Kaitey is still alive.."

Jay stood in front of Shiro, concern on her face, "Shiro-nii, are you alright?"

He nodded before resting his hands on her shoulders, "Go get Sammy and Beth. I need them, now."

Jay nodded and headed off to find them.

Shiro turned to his son, "Kei, I need you to scout out which way Ichigo went."

Kei looked troubled, "That will be difficult right now..I used most of my energy when I transformed.."

"Is there anything you can do?"

Kei stood and contemplated on what he could do before his eyes shone, "There's one way, but it will be kind of difficult to handle."

"Do it. I trust you." Shiro knew his son could do anything.

Kei nodded before stepping back. His body began to glow and in a burst of light, his body, became two separate bodies.

The two separate bodies of Rei and Kai.

They were grown up now, but Shiro still saw his babies, just as the day they were born. He wanted to hold them and show them his love and pride, but they were in too big of a mess for that.

"Will you two be alright?" Shiro asked, concern lacing his voice. Sure they were powerful and grown, but he was still their father.

Kai nodded, "Of course, dad. We aren't that little anymore. Besides, Rei would kick my butt if I died."

Rei scowled, "I wouldn't kick your butt. I would eat you so I could take your powers for myself."

The two giggled for a bit and Shiro couldn't help but smile, "Be careful."

Rei looked his father in the eye before smiling, "Don't worry, dad. I'm not helpless anymore."

Shiro remembered when Zero had tortured Rei, and when his brothers had him kill his son. It would stain his mind till his end.

With that, the two were gone, dust was left to swirl in the air where they once were.

"What is it, Shiro? It better be important. The Shinigami are getting restless."

Shiro turned to face Sammy and the others when she spoke. Like he asked her to do, Jay got Sammy, Beth and Grimmjow accounted for.

"I know we have a lot to do, and there are issues at hand that need to be dealt with, so I will just say it, sparing no sugar coating," Shiro took a breath, "Kaitey is alive."
