"Mom I'm home!", I yelled, dropping my bag next to the door. Grabbing a packet of chips, I turned on the tv and absently began flipping the channels twisting my long brown hair around my fingers. I settled for AXN and began watching whatever random thing was on. After half an hour or more, I was jolted awake by the sound of my phone blaring. Squinting, I pressed the answer button. "Hey girlie, waddup?!", I heard the voice of my another best friend. "Hey, Ali", I replied, wide awake now. Ali was the closest person to me other than my mom and Blake. He was gay. And that's why his parents had shipped him off to Australia to, apparently, 'cure him of his disease'. I know. I couldn't believe it as well. " So how's it going in the states?", he enquired. "Same old. College assignments, tuition classes and whatnot. How's it with Aussies?", I teased him. "They are actually quite nice. Just like y'all.", he said with a giggle. He isn't always swishy-swashy but.. Sigh. "Heh. How is Jake?, I enquired. Jake was Ali's boyfriend. You know. Boyfriend boyfriend. "-went for paragliding.", he was babbling at top speed. "Thats cool.", I replied while pawing through the fridge, and the bell rang. "Hey I'll get back to you, there's someone at my door.", and I hung up. I ran to the door and opened it. "What are you doing here?", I asked Blake in surprise. "I knew it. You forgot after reminding me yourself. Calculas class Jadey!", she groaned. "Go change out of that shit.", she ordered shooing me off while regarding my batman pyjamas and spongebob tshirt with distate. Yeah you heard that right. Batman pyjamas. Hurriedly I went to my room and took out my black skinny jeans and a black and red checkered shirt. Quickly I put them on while applying some black kohl, lipgloss and blush. Weell, I like a bitta makeup. I slid on my silver bracelet my dad had gotten me for my 18th birthday. Yep. Still have it. I just ran my fingers through my hair and put it up in a ponytail, not having time to do anything fancy. Putting on my blue sneakers, I grabbed my backpack and ran down to the door. "I'm ready.", I said panting. "About time.", Blake replied and walked towards her car shaking her ass. Rolling my eyes I made myself comfortable in the car. "So what's with the added security?", I enquired eyeing the two mountains- I mean bodyguards sitting in the driver's and the shotgun seat. "My dad insists. What with our world being on the verge of getting turned upside down", she sighed and turned to look outside the window. It has been three years since this crap started. There was a new group formed of these elites who called themselves the Tangos'. They wanted to overthrow and takeover our government and imply their new rules which when followed could only lead to pain, torture, loss and death. My parents were against even me going to the calculus tuitions. But it had yet to happen and I had to keep my grades up. I could only imagine what would happen to me, to Blake, or anybody if we were to be found in a tuition, a company or even a restaurant. I feared for my safety. "Jade, We're here.", Blake nudged me, ending my train of thought. We walked up the building and into the elevator. Pressing the number 4, I waited impatiently. The elevator dinged and opened. As is we were late, so we scurried into the classroom and settled ourselves on the available last benches. "Nice of you to join us. Miss Bretts, Miss Edwards.", Mr. James said with a disapproving look. "Sorry sir. Won't happen again.", I said looking down hide my blush. Now you must be wondering blush? He's a teacher! But I can promise you that its just a crush. I admire Mr.James. Thats all. He is just increadibly intelligent and has an air of authority which I love. There are total 13 teachers, with 25 staff members. Its kinda like school. Only much cooler. "Miss.Edwards! Would care to answer?", Mr.James asked and I looked up, embarrassed. "Could you please repeat the question, Sir?", I asked weakly. "What is-", he was cut off by loud sirens. "Michael, you have to come.", another teacher, Mr.White hollered. "Be right there Aaron.", Mr. James replied and he stalked off. Blake and I shares a confused and which after hearing the people outside talk change into fear. Other students too had started getting up and murmuring. Sudddenly, the door flew open and we held our breaths. "Did I ask you to get up?", a voice boomed. Mr. James.  We all sat still without moving an inch. He turned to look at me, his eyes honey-brown eyes which would always be kind were looking into mine dangerously. Striding over to us, he grabbed my ponytail and pulled my head back as I cried out in pain and surprise; he smirked and completed his sentence for which he had been cut off. "What is wrong with you today JADE?"
