Chapter 2

~Zara's POV~

"Mom!" I yelled running into our small living room.

"Yes Zara?" Mom sighed turning around.

"Look!" I said holding my hand out. My hand started to glow and a bright sphere of light appeared in my hand.

"Was that all you wanted to show me?" Mom said.

"W-well I thought it was cool and you would be impressed" I said letting my hand fall to my side stopping the sphere of light and trying not to cry.

"Come on let me get you something" mom said standing up and starting to walk outside. I wiped my tears that were forming in my eyes and followed her. We walked down a narrow dirt path until we came to a small farm.

"Oh! Hello Jessica" an old lady said standing in the small fields of some vegetables.

"Hello Sera, can I have some chocolate?" Mom asked Sera.

"Oh, I would but you know chocolate is expensive and..." Sera said embarrassed.

"I have the money for it" mom said pulling a stack of money out.

"Oh, wait there" Sera said walking into a little hut. She returned with a bag full of something brown.

"Here" Sera said handing the bag to mom and taking the stack of money.

"Here" mother said handing me some of the brown stuff that was in the bag.

"What is it?" I asked grabbing the strange brown food.

"It's chocolate, it's sweet you'll like it" mom said. I took a bite of the chocolate and my taste buds were immediately taken over by a very sweet yet bitter flavor. (IDK I tried to describe dark chocolate)

"T-this is delicious!" I said wolfing the rest down.

"Glade you like it, now follow me" mom said. I nodded and followed her. We walked through the woods that surrounded our small village. As we got farther the trees gradually disappeared and we arrived at a peninsula. We walked over to the edge and mom just stared out into the ocean.

"Mom why are we here? I asked confused.

"I don't want you to use your powers anywhere but here" mother said looking at me.

"Why?" I asked tilting my head.

"I can't tell you now but soon you will know" mom said sighing. I nodded slowly.

"Let's go back now and eat more chocolate" mom said smiling.

"Yeah!" I said jumping up and down.

~Jessica's POV~

I tucked Zara in and walked over to my room. I opened one of my drawers and pulled out a gold necklace chain with a triangle and a circle in the middle with a line going through the middle of the circle.

"Soon Zara, soon you will know everything, my child of life" I said holding the necklace to my chest.

~Unknown POV~

'The sister of death is found, the sister of life is lost, but once found the sister of life will bring power to the beholder' echoed in my head.

"I see, then the sister of life must be her child" I said as a sinister smile formed on my face and my eyes darkened.
