Hi my name is Ashely, I'm 16 years old and I mostly do what teens do. Play on their phones and text their friends. At school, I guess you could call me one of the popular girls. One that gets asked out by the jocks and the somewhat hot boys. I bet you know how that goes. Your thinking that I would say yes and rather date the cool guys than one of the nerds. Well, I have a crush on a boy named Jack, he's my neighbor. We always hang out together after school and our moms always hang out too, it kinda works out perfect. He's not in the popular kid group or the nerds. He's homeschooled, ever sense his dad Mark died, his mom won't really let him do much of anything. Right now, I'm staring down at my desk looking at 2-(5+903)-6x16=?. I have no clue. I won't try, because right next to me is one of the nerds who has a crush on me. I hand him my paper, blow him a fake kiss, and pull out my phone and look at my Instagram account to see all the latest news about my friend Alexa who's on the Disney Cruise Ship right now. She must be having so much fun, skipping school, eating tons of food, going on water slides, you get my point. Her life is a lot better than mine! I whisper to the nerd who does my work. "Ya almost done yet?"
"Yes. Will you be my girlfriend?" he says. I think to myself, are you seriously asking me that?
"No, sorry" is all I can think of saying without hurting his feelings. He doesn't respond. He just hands me back my work, which is finished, thank goodness! Will I ever be smart? Oh, well, if im smart then I won't be popular. And being popular means a lot to me. I never want to sit at the nerd tables which are the short square tables, the popular kids have the circle tables. Teachers think that I'm the perfect student, mostly because I'm quiet, and I get all A's on my work. But really, when I'm quiet, I'm sneaking my phone out from my bra, and when I get all A's, that's because the nerds do it for me. I guess you could say I have a perfect life. Your wrong. The perfect part of my day is when I'm at school. When I'm home, let's just say it's very different. 'Ring' I hear the bell ring. Yes! Time for lunch. As I'm walking in the hallway, I meet up with one of my friends, Kasey. "Hey, you know that nerd from my math class? Well, he just asked me out. I know, gross, right?" I say.
"Really? I haven't got asked out all day. You think it's cause I'm not wearing 'booty shorts'?"
"Maybe. I hear that's the only thing the boys care about, looks. I mean, seriously! Anyway, how does this new belly button piercing I got look?" I look down at my belly shirt. My shorts come up to my butt, I'm kinda cold!
"It looks hot on you! I like it! When did you get it?" Kasey says while poking it.
"Yesterday. So be careful!" I say with a funny tone in my voice. Kasey doesn't respond, just stares at one of the jocks. Really? I think it's so funny how no one cares about what people look like on the inside. They only care about what's on the inside. As I walk to my table and sit down, I take out my phone, Alexa is on a dolphin in a non chlorine pool! I love dolphins! I wish I was there with her. All of a sudden, I get a text message, I look at who it's from. Jack! 'Hey, wanna hang out at my beach tonight? It'd be really cool if u could make it. Oh, I wanna ask u something so please come!' Yay!! I think he's gunna ask me out! I've been waiting for this day forever! It's finally come! I answer back, 'Yeah. That sounds great! See u there🙂'
