"you ready for this liz?" maddie turned to me with her camera as we pulled up to emma's house to see what looked like hundreds of people there- some on the roof, inside the house, and outside on the yard.
"there is no fucking way i'd ever be ready but fuck it. let's go inside."
"woah that's not like you, liz."
"well this is the summer of change isn't it?" i winked at the camera and headed inside.
once in the house, i instantly regretted it. i'm not in with this crowd. marcus should be here not me. i don't understand how marcus liked me in the first place. before me, he dated a bunch of cheerleaders not some boring girl who likes to read and listen to music. him asking me out was one of the biggest shocks of junior year.
"hey look who made it," wes came up to me with a smirk on his face. "lil miss cliché." he chuckled probably because of how funny he thought he was.
"yeah and it looks like mr. bad boy found his way to the party to without getting arrested first." i retorted.
wes was about to respond when emma walked up. "babe why are you standing over here talking to this freak? let's go dance." she started to pull him away.
"bye cliché." he winked back at me as they made their way to the dance floor. he was definitely drunk. i noticed by the way he stumbled to the floor with emma.
"cliché?" emma asked turning off the camera.
"long story short wes told me that my summer plans were cliché."
"well were they?"
"a little." we both laughed.
"there's definitely some tension between you guys. like the video was starting to get heated. five more minutes and y'all would have been snogging."
"who the hell says snogging?" i laughed.
"this bitch right here." she laughed too.
"let's go check out the rest of the house." i said making my way to the backyard with maddie following me.
she pulled out her camera when we got to the backyard. emma's backyard was amazing. it had a huge ass pool and a fire pit. it looked like something out of a movie. we walked over to a table and each grabbed a soda. we were walking around the backyard when lily, a girl from school, bumped into me.
emma turned on the camera.
"watch where you're going you little man-stealing whore!" she yelled at me.
lily and marcus had dated right before we did. rumor has it that they broke up because marcus liked me more. lily was and still is mad because she's more popular and pretty by definition of society yet i ended up with the guy.
"face it lily. marcus likes me and not you. get over yourself." she shoved me. "you little bitch!" i called out and pushed back.
"you wanna see a bitch, i'll show you a bitch." she shoved me into the pool and everyone gasped.
"hold this for me." maddie handed the camera to a guy next to her. "make sure you can see me in the video."
maddie walked up to lily. "hey slut." lily turned around and pushed lily into the pool. "next time, don't call my best friend a whore and push her into a pool then expect to get away with it." maddie came over and helped me out of the pool.
"mads that was epic. don't get on your bad side."
"what can i say? i guess i'm just a crazy bitch, you know?" we laughed.
maddie walked to the guy holding her camera and took it back. "thanks for holding it. i owe you one." she smiled. "let's get out of here liz. we can go order a pizza or some shit like that."
"yeah let's go. did you at least get some good footage for the documentary?"
"you fucking know it!"
