I started soccer at the age of 3 since my mom didn't want to wait another year because of my late birthday. As a kid soccer is fun and easy, mostly because you just kick the ball and hope it goes in. For some reason though I was more excelled. I actually wanted to improve. Ever since then I have been playing at an older age group, yet I was still better.
When my dad was coaching me he always used me as examples and when he was busy doing something during practice or was late because of work I was always leading. It's not as great as you think being the best player. The reason for that is because the only reason I was the best player was because I was playing rec ( a bunch of people who join a soccer team and probably have no experience what so ever with playing soccer.)
Although since my dad was the coach he would always push me. He would have me dribble with a skill in the middle while others were working on just dribbling. He would have me juggle while he was teaching then how to pass. I felt like I was at a different practice. But I kept getting better and better. That's when my dad noticed I needed to take another step.
