The cosmic girl was a pilot. She was born on a spaceship while Earth was being regrown. They say she had the likenesses of space. "Her eyes glowed with a blue and purple hue," they said. She was a thief for she stole a spaceship from her home and left. Nobody remembers her now. She was forgotten in time, but I cannot forget. I loved her. Her heart was pure and she saved countless worlds. I tried to kill her when I first met the cosmic girl. I was part of the spectral police force. Her words touched my heart and we complimented each other. Meeting her was a serendipitous event. Our bodies were built to be with each other, our hearts beat together as one. We walked at the same pace so we wouldn't ever get left behind by each other. The cosmic girl is gone now, for she was all human, nothing in her blood would've let her stay. "I'm a wanderer," she said to me. "I can't always be here," she whispered to me. I hated this. It hurt so much to watch her beautiful body and spirit disappear in an instant. I loved her. I cried out as she walked away, her head wouldn't look my way but I could tell she was crying. I felt it. Her heart and soul left me that day and didn't return until I had almost forgotten. Our friends ran a cafe together where we catered to the lonely and those who wanted to have a good time. I stopped thinking about her on a daily basis. I was laughing. I was okay. She arrived at the door. That day, I felt as if something was going to change, as if the missing heartbeat would return to me. Standing in the doorway was an older version of the cosmic girl. She was more of a weathered cosmic woman than anything else. Her eyes were as young as the last time I looked into them. Her hair had obviously been cut off by something other than scissors, maybe she cut it with a knife or a laser, but it was much shorter. Her face was covered with dust and scratches, she had been fighting. Her armor that I built for her was worn out. She moved into the silent room, not looking at anyone and sat down down, "Can you please give me food and drink? I haven't had sustenance in several days," she whispered and then coughed. My friend, Clovis, rushed her as much food and water as he could carry. She wouldn't look my direction, but she was communicating with everyone else. She was smiling. I didn't care if she stopped caring about me, I needed her to be alive. I stood up and walked out. I looked into the abyss of space, was I truly okay? I only felt a sickeningly sweet caress around me. It hurt. Arms reached around my waist, she was holding me. The cosmic girl I loved so much was back. She whispered in my ear, "I came back for my cosmic girl." I was her cosmic girl and she was mine.
