My Heart Says Unto My Mind

Within your enemy, when you see
Yourself reflected in a clear screen
You ask yourself with despair and dread
Be you any better, in the end?

Your enemies, they come, disguised as friends
They tear your heart and your trust - shred
But if you do the same with a different intent
Be you any better in the end?

It is not her who broke your heart
She gave you not that wicked scar
She hath suffered her own pains
Must you add on to her dismay?

Hurt you are, one understands
But must you hurt your only friend
What wrong deed has she done
To gain your wary mistrust?

If stabbed  by others, one or ten
Put up a shield or get stabbed again
But that precious bond, don't break or bend
For once severed, it cannot mend

Be not a wielder of that evil blade
For others must suffer your wrenching pain
This is their heart which you so carelessly maim
Remember?- your enemy once did the same.

Like a true star, shines her soul
Her heart is true forevermore
Through that same ordeal- put her not
Or a cycle will start, it cannot be stopped
