Shorty after I left I wondered into the woods and followed the directions on the paper i had received when I won. The rangers home seemed closer than I had imagined it would be, after all I used to play in the woods all the time as a child and never saw him nor his home. Even tho I had won I still didn't know his name. I decided to call him sir until i was told not to. I kept counting paces as i walked through bushes and piles of leaves until i finally saw something. A stone structure sat dead in the middle of the woods hidden in plain sight I suppose. Rangers were always that way, hiding things in plain sight. I was told that he was at the shooting competition himself and I never saw any sight of him. It was strange to think that I didn't know of The Ranger himself being there.

After a few more paces I found myself standing in front of the stone structure. It was a little square cottage made of stone bricks and a wooden shingled roof witch had to be fairly new. I nervously raised my hand to knock after taking in the detail of my new home. As if by magic The Ranger opened the door "Hello" he said in a deep tone, he stood tall he was also surprisingly tan for how much he wears his cloak, he also had dirty blonde hair, I expected very dark hair. I then realized not  of y predictions about him were false witch was disappointing and gave me no hope of being good enough to be his apprentice. "I know, I know your nervous, please come in" He made a gesture with his hand motioning inside the warm looking cottage, I followed his gesture and reluctantly walked in.

The cottage was warm and lit better than it looked from outside. I continued walking till i reached the fireplace at the back of the room and then I turned around. Standing at the now closed door The Ranger stood silently, he was holding something. What was it?
