Derek was running from cops, we were driving his car. Well, Scott was. Stiles was in the front seat while I was in the back.
Allison's aunt, the one Scott called Kate, was following us.
"Faster?" Scott asked.
Stiles nodded, "Much faster."
"Scott, I don't think you're grasping the concept of the car chase here," I said.
"If I go faster, I'll kill us," Scott replied.
"Well, if you don't go faster, they're gonna kill us!" Stiles yelled.
Scott went faster, and I looked behind me as we lost the aunt. "They're gone."
Stiles turned on the police radio, our dad's voice saying, "All units, suspect is on foot heading into the Iron Works."
Since that's where Derek was, that's where we were going. When we got there, Derek was dodging arrows, Stiles opening the door. "Get in!"
As one of the Argents began to shoot at Derek, he was running over and jumping in as Stiles jumped back with me in the back seat.
Scott wasn't slow to get out of there. "What part of laying low don't you understand?" he demanded of Derek.
"Damn it, I had him!" Derek yelled.
Stiles had his head in the middle of the seats. "Who, the Alpha?"
"Yes! He was right in front of me, and the freaking police showed up."
I looked up at him, and when I spoke, Stiles moved his head towards me too. "Whoa, hey, they're just doing their jobs--"
I cut myself off when he glared at me, then he turned to Scott. "Yeah. Thanks to someone who decided to make me the most wanted fugitive in the entire state."
"Can we seriously get past that?" Scott demanded. "I made a dumbass mistake, I get it."
"All right, how did you find him?" I asked.
Derek looked away and Scott said, "Can you try to trust us for at least half a second?"
"Yeah, all of us," Stiles said, and when Derek gave him an even worse glare than he had given me, he backed off. "Or just him. I'll be back here."
"Look, the last time I talked to my sister, she was close to figuring something out," Derek said. "She found two things. The first was a guy named Harris."
I leaned forward through the seats halfway. "Our chemistry teacher?"
"Why him?" Scott asked.
"I don't know yet," Derek answered.
"What's the second?"
"Some kind of symbol." He got out a piece of paper that had a drawing of a wolf and what looked like a moon, but I couldn't tell from back here, but Scott reacted to it. "What? You know what this is?"
"I've seen it on a necklace," Scott answered. "Allison's necklace."
Scott, Stiles and I walked into school together, being that Stiles was my ride to and from school. "This is gonna be impossible, you know," Scott said as we walked into school.
"Why don't you just ask her if you can borrow it?" Stiles asked.
"How?"
"It's easy," I said. "You just say 'Hey, Allison, can I borrow your necklace to see if there's anything on it or in it that can lead me to an Alpha werewolf that I need to kill in order to get back together with you?'"
