Amy's POV
"C'mon Sonic don't be like that!" The pink hedgehog whined. "It's just one date, just one!"
She was begging Sonic to go out with her, panting as she tried to keep up with the blue speedster.
Eventually, he stopped and slowly turned to face her.
She paused and fell quiet.
The blue hedgehog sighed silently. "...Amy, how many times do I have to tell you, I'm not interested." He muttered before leaving.
Her ears perked up and they slowly dropped back, sadly. She fell to her knees, eyes growing teary.
Shadow's POV
How pathetic, A black and crimson hedgehog thought to himself. How does she allow herself to be treated that way? Can she not see that Sonic isn't interested. He chuckled ruefully. It's too bad Sonic is too ignorant to come out and admit his feelings.
He looked over at the horizon. He's got her convinced, maybe for good. He smirked.
He walked towards the pink hedgehog, hearing soft, quiet sniffles. She's holding back her tears, isn't she?
The beautiful Rose acknowledged his presence. A broken heart gazed up at him, he smiled faintly. "Don't worry, you'll find the right one," He murmured.
And with that, the whole world around seemed, brighter.
Sonic's POV
God dammit, why can't I just come out and tell her how I feel? The blue speedster thought to himself angrily.
He looked over his shoulder as he walked closer to the village. His heart sank. The next the he knew was that Shadow was now his unofficial romantic rival.
He knew I liked her, how could he do this?!
Is it possible that he's hiding something, is he scheming?
Doesn't matter now. It's too late for suckers like me.

I found the song Too Little Too Late fitting since it would be sung from Amy's perspective and it kinda matches her situation.
