A Life Like This

Nightmares

I felt my body drifting off into a dark hole that had no end.
I kept reaching out my hand praying someone would grab me but it was no use. I began to scream out for help ...but no sound escaped my lips.
Each secound my heart rate quickened until I finally crashed..
"Sorry brooklynn " I heard a faint voice say in the darkness. "LAIR!!" I screamed feeling my chest grow heavy "you're never Sorry!!"
"Whatever brooklynn I'm done. ."
I felt like I've been kicked in the stomach or like a helpless child."NO, you can't leave!! You promised you would be here to protect me. you promised you would never leave..but yet I'm left here crying out to you and Your WALKING AWAY!?!..HOW COULD YOU WALK AWAY??"
I watched as the figure slowly disappeared. I didn't even realize who it was but I was drowing in my tears. I tried to run after it but it hurt to move. My heart began to race as if it was trying to exscape my chest.
"Help!..I. .I. I can-..t breath"
"Mommy!! MOMMY!! Wake up "
I opened my eyes to see breeze standing over me with a scared look on her face almost as if she was about to cry. "Its okay mommy's up "
"Mommy you were crying and screaming and I was so scar-" I grabbed onto her and pulled her close."it's okay baby girl mommys alright okay??" I took in a deep breath and assured her I was fine...but I'm not sure if I convinced myself.
"Okay,Mommy can I sleep with you??"
I scooted over making room and pulled back the covers as she crawled into bed. snuggling up next to me I wrapped her in my arms and placed a kiss on her cheek so she knew everything would be alright. "Goodnight princess "
