I was on my way to class, where I major in graphic design, at Manchester University. I had left a little early, so I stopped by Starbucks to get my usual, a grande iced hazelnut macchiato. I ordered my coffee, and stood to the side, absent-mindedly playing with my straw wrapper. I grabbed an extra sugar packet, like usual. You never knew if it would be sweet enough.

As I waited for them to call my name, a tall man bumped into me, sending my straw to the ground.

"Oh, sorry," he said in a hurried voice. His voice was deep, and had a raspy tone to it. He had sunglasses on so I couldn't see his eyes.  It didn't matter though; I would recognize his curls anywhere.

"Harry?" I questioned, just to make sure. He looked up and took a better look at me.

I hadn't seen Harry since he auditioned for The X Factor back in 2010 and been put into some boy band. I didn't know much about them though; I've been to busy studying for uni.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't the one and only Katherine Adams."

We were remeniscing when someone tapped Harry on the shoulder. He too was wearing sunglasses, but also had a purple beanie covering his light chestnut hair.

"Harry.  He just called your name," he said.

"Oh, thanks," he replied and then turned to me. "This is Louis, my bandmate," Harry explained. "You know, the band I was put in on The X Factor."

"Of course I remember! Nice to meet you, Louis. I'm Katherine."

"Nice to meet you Katherine. Call me Lou," he said as he took off his sunglasses. His eyes were perfect. They were like clear sapphires, blue and pure.

I felt a poke on my arm, and I turned to see who had nudged me. Harry had broken my trance, as I had been staring at Louis' eyes for awhile.

"Kay. Call me Kat then," I agreed, blushing from being caught.

"Sure, Kat." Louis agreed with a wink. Was he flirting with me? We had just met though.

"Now, I would love to stay and talk, but if I'm late to class again, Professor Carver's going to make me stay after class.. Not. Fun. I'll see you guys later!"

I hurried out of Starbucks and hopped into my car.

"Here's her number, Lou," said Harry, handing Louis his phone back.

"Thanks. I'll just send her a text so she'll have my number." Louis sent Katherine a text. "Hey Kat. It's Lou. xx :)"

A minute later, I came to a stop at an intersection and my phone buzzed to life.

"Why can't you be green?!" I yelled at the traffic light as I reached for my phone on the passenger seat.

I unlocked my phone just as the light turned green. The cars behind me were beeping their horns, so I started to drive slowly, looking at my phone. I was about to read the text when I heard screeches. I looked up and saw a car coming toward me, and the last thing I heard was a loud crash and then it was black.

"Let's go Lou, before the girls recognize us," said Harry, glancing around nervously at all the teenage girls.

"Yeahh. We have to be at the studio in a couple minutes anyway."

Harry and Louis went in Harry's car and they started to drive to the studio. As they drove, they passed by an awful car accident.

"Ouch! I hope they're going to be okay," Harry said.

The site looked awful. There was glass shattered everywhere and one car was flipped onto its roof and damaged far beyond repair. Another car was slightly less damaged, but only slightly. Ambulances and police cars surrounded the scene. It looked hopeless for the two drivers and anybody else if they were in the two cars.

.

The two friends headed to the studio, shaken up by the accident but ready to record their new single.
