I was eight years old when I found it. I remember that day like it was yesterday.

It was a particularly cloudy day, I had told my mother that I was going to go play in the woods toward the back of the house. The smell of the trees and grass always made me feel at home. There was this one tree that was my favorite, it was a very large pine tree. It was much easier for me to climb than the other trees. As I always did, I climbed 'til I couldn't go any higher.

While sitting on a branch, something shiny to my left had caught my attention. I stood up and attempted to take it from the twig-like branch it was caught on. I thought that I could reach it if I just leaned a little bit more. My fingertips could just barely reach it. It was very cold and smooth, I couldn't get a good enough look at it to know what it was.

Leaning a bit more I finally grabbed it, but as I snatched it up in my hand, I lost my balance. While falling, it felt like everything was in slow motion. When I had about an inch left until I hit the ground, a white light started escaping from the foreign object in my hand. The light swallowed me up, and that's where my adventure begins.
