After class, I got a call from my brother saying that he's going to be ten minutes late, and I should just walk to starbucks and wait there. As I was walking to starbucks, I saw a guy on the road with a guitar singing. It was so beautiful, I decided to just stand there till my brother came. The guy was singing in a different language, and I'm pretty sure it was Telugu. I understood perfectly. After a while a bunch of other people gathered around him and started giving some coins and bills in his guitar case. Man I wish I had at least a dollar to give, but I'm broke. Then I got a text from my brother saying,
Where are you??
I told him where I was. The guitar boy took his fedora off and put it out towards the audience, he came in the half circle to literally every single person and smiled hoping for money. When he came to me I just froze, I checked all my pockets for at least a dollar. Nothing.
He said, "It's okay, don't stress," smiled at me, then continued with the half circle. He was so cute, wow. Just wow. All the audience left, and I had to stand there to wait for my brother. The guitar boy was putting all his money from the guitar case, into his fedora. I was just staring at him. He looked up at me, and I quickly turned to my phone. My brother finally arrived and stepped out of his car.
"Akanksha, sorry I was late!" he said.
"I don't care just give me your purse." He took out his purse and looked at me strangely. The guitar guy stood up to leave, "Wait!" I exclaimed. The guy turned around. I walked straight up to him with my brothers purse and was struggling to get out a damn dollar. "You did really good right now," I told him.
"Thanks, if you're struggling with the money you can just leave it you know?"
"No! No! I'm not!" I finally pulled out $5 and said, "Keep it! You deserve it."
"Thanks so much!" he said with a smile and started walking away.
"Akanksha!" My brother called from behind me, "Come on already! And give me my purse!" I went to the car and sat inside. We drove super slowly a few blocks, then I saw guitar guy sitting on the street with a homeless man.
