Welcome to the OCEAN BLUE Book Club. As this project is just taking off, and I am new to these sorts of projects, there may be some kinks that I will need to sort out. But for now, let's just see how it goes!

PURPOSE
-to help find great undiscovered stories and help make them discovered
-to spread positivity through helpful comments, critiques and conversations
-to help you find a good book to read

RULES

Before I can start taking requests to be entered in this book club, I need to go over some basic rules, and guidelines that will help this run smoothly.

TO ENTER:
1. Fill out the form that will be posted on a separate chapter. Be sure to fill out the right form, as there is one for writers and readers, and for readers only. Your story MUST have at least two parts, not including a prologue or preface.

2. Add this story to your library, so that you will know when this story will be updated, who you will be in a group with for each week, and more

3. Follow this account, to hear all sorts of important announcements

Only when you have completed all these steps, will I be accepting you to the book club.

HOW IT WORKS:
-once you have been accepted, and we have enough members to begin, you will be split into randomly selected groups of about five or six (we will most likely be starting once we have one full group)

-every WEEK, you will be asked to read two chapters of every person in your group's entered novel. DO NOT READ AHEAD PLEASE.

-once you have read the two chapters of that story, you will vote on both of those chapters and leave a nice, 3+ line comment. You can explain what you liked, didn't like, or how the person could improve their writing. BE SPECIFIC. I will not be accepting comments that say only "I like your story so much! It was soooo cool!", because not only is trust unfair to the author, who is most likely taking the time to write a proper comment on your story, but it doesn't show me whether you actually completed your part of the deal, and read the author's story

-if it comes to the point that you are put into the same group as someone else a second time, you will read the next two chapters of their story. If there aren't enough chapters posted, then you will not have any obligation to read that person's story for the week, yet they still have to read yours

REWARDS:

-rewards are this book club's way of recognizing great stories, or great people on general. The rewards include:
-book of the week (every week a book is chosen at random, and everybody must vote and comment (3+ lines) on two chapters of that person's story, to help boost the reads, votes and comments of said story, to help it get recognized)
-sand dollars (a sand dollar will be given out to someone each week who I think deserves it the most. It could be for an extra nice comment, or anything else that I thought was cool of them. Anyone who earns a sand dollar will have the option of either me voting and commenting on a FULL THREE CHAPTERS of story, or for one of their strikes to be lifted)

If you have not completed your assignment in the time given, you will be asked to leave the club. So many people lately, haven't been completing their assignments, which isn't fair to the other members, who are reading the books and not getting any reads or constructive feedback in return, which is really starting to annoy me.

IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS, FEEL FREE TO LEAVE THEM IN THE COMMENTS OR TO MESSAGE ME. ALSO, IF YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS OR IDEAS FOR THIS BOOK CLUB, FEEL FREE TO TELL ME, AND I'LL TAKE THEM INTO CONSIDERATION.
