It was 1:34am,  and we were starving.  We looked at each other and mentally asked the same question; 'where do you want to go? ' I just shrugged my shoulders,  and he knew that that meant that I didn't care where we went.
"How about McDonalds? " Tyler suggested.
"ight. " I replied to him,  still staring at the direction of where the sound of the shots came from. I got up the courage to turn the other direction,  and get in the car. He turned the key, and began backing out.
We were driving down the road. He was saying something to me, but I wasn't listening.  I was too focused on what was happening behind us. Every now and then I would look at him and either smile or nod. I didn't want him to know that I was scared.
We finally arrived at McDonalds.  "What do you want to get? " Tyler asked me as we were getting out of the car.
"I don't know.  I'll get whatever you get. " I reply to his question. He just looked at me,  smiled,  and opened the door for me to go through first.
When we went in, the employees kept staring at us.  They started whispering things behind the counter.  Tyler must have known that it bothers me when people talk like that,  so he grabbed my hand and shook his head, indicating that it wasn't worth it to snap on them.
"Welcome to McDonalds, how may we serve you? "the manager asked us with a big smile, too big for her little face.
"Can we get four double cheese burgers, too medium fries, and two large drinks? " Tyler ordered, looking at me for approval.
"Alright, your total comes to $10.56." she says looking at the register.
Tyler pulls out his wallet and gives her a $20, telling her to keep the change. She handed us our cups, and we headed to the fountain.  He got mountain dew, while I got sweet tea, to help the buzz.
We sat down at the booth.  He grabbed e hands, leaned in closer, and began kissing my neck.  The homeless man across the room was staring at us.
"I don't think its a good idea to be doing that right now. " I whisper to Tyler.
"Why not? " he asked me, still kissing my neck.
"Because that dude over there is staring at me, and its kinda creeping me out. " I say to him,  trying not to look at the homeless guy.
"Fine. "Tyler says,  pulling me away and kissing my lips.  Before we had even realized it, our food had been set at our table.
He grabbed the bag and began giving out the food. He handed me my food first, then he took the rest.  I sat there and stared at my food for about a minute, then opened it and started to eat.
"I hope you are okay, considering what we heard, and not knowing exactly what happened. " he said to me biting into his burger.
"I'd rather not talk or think about it. " I say to him taking avail of my tea.  He looked at me for a second, then continued to eat his food in peace, and I did so as well.
