I groan as I press the off button on my alarm clock to quiet the annoying beep announcing that it was time for me to get up. I drag my feet to the floor and stumble to my closet and pull out a pair of leggings and my familiar favorite sweater. I slip my feet into a pair of boots and quietly head downstairs.
I peer around the corner at the couch to see my father passed out with bottles of various types of alcohol surrounding him. I grab a blanket and cover him with it, kissing his forehead before heading towards the door. I look back to make sure he's still asleep and shut the door behind me.
I look up at the sky and try to shove the nervous feeling that's slowly creeping into my body, back down. Today is the first day of college and I'm anything but excited, I'm terrified and worried of messing up something. I back out of my drive way in my beaten up car and head towards the unknown.
Twenty minutes later I finally reach the main campus and I realize that I have a decent amount of time to kill, so I decide to wander around and familiarize myself with my surroundings. I shove my headphones into my ears and walk where my legs decide to take me.
The campus basically consists of standard brick buildings and paths that will soon be filled with students. I drift off into my own world and soon before I know it it's time for my first class. "Shit," I curse under my breath realizing that I literally have a minute to spare. I hurriedly grab my campus map out of my bag and try to find my class. In my state of panic, I don't see a person heading straight in my direction and soon we collide, books flying to the ground with me soon following. I look up to see a blonde hair boy red in the face.
"I'm so-"
"Watch where the fuck you're going next time." My face heats up in embarrassment as I quickly grab my books and continue to my class. Walking into class I look up at the clock and groan, five minutes late. Today is not going to be good.
