"It's about time you noticed me" she said. At first I didn't understand then realized what she meant.

"You purposely whistled the song knowing I would stop, didn't you?" I asked

"Yeah I did" she said laughing.

"Why couldn't you have been like any other person and just stop me?"

"Because I'm a complicated maniac"

"True" I agreed

"Now, are you just going to stand there or are you gonna show me some love?"

"Of course Charm" We embraced and I couldn't help the strong smell of strawberry cream. I love that scent so much.

"So this is where you disapeared to huh? Birhmingham, Alabama. Just left me for this dusty place." Charm stated as we began our trail toward the exit.

"Yeah, listen about that--"

"Don't even start" she cut me off "I know. With your grandmother dying and you being only 15 at the time, this was your last resort. I just wish we could've at least said goodbye"

"I'm sorry Charm. I tried calling but your phone was off"

Charm started laughing and it left me in oblivion.

"I see you're still the innocent Bambi as you used to be."

"What do you mean?" I questioned.

"Bambi baby, I was locked up" she said

"As in jail?"

"Yeah. Now don't get all heavy minded it wasn't that bad, just some late parking tickets. That's all. But it's all good now" she assured. I smiled to myself. Charm touched my cheek and smiled. The feel of her warm touch made me feel so...complete.

"So, what are you doing in this gettyup? As they say in Alabama" she asked referring to my nun like church clothes.

"Oh, Nothing to big, just...church" I spoke noticing I'm probably well over my half hour. "Oh No" I said looking at my watch, I was so late Sunday school was half over.

"What's wrong?" she asked

"I have to go"

"Go? Where"

"To church." I started walking and before I knew it I was back at MLK. As I waited at the stoplight a beautiful drop top candy red mustang comes strolling up beside me and Charm is the driver

"Need a ride beautiful?" she asked. I smiled and played along with her little game

"Well that sho' would be mighty kind of you miss lady but my daddy always taught me neva' to get in a car with strangers" i say mimicking the down south accent.

"Is That so? Well this stranger is in need of a companion. Won't you be so kind as to be of my assitance" she said with pleading eyes

"Well, I guess this one time won't hurt" I smiled as I jogged around to the passenger side.

"Damn girl look at that big ole' booty" she said, sudde my making me feel self-conscious, I got inside and she sped off.

I gave her directions to the church and we were on our way. As we pulled up to a stop light we ended beside a car load of guys. The driver was riding low and his car was envy green. Fresh wheels and hot rims. His music blasted and his seat back. They all began whistling at us

"Damn yall fine" one guy said

"Aye shawty what yo' name is?" said another. They started placing dibs on us as if we were the last  slice of pie. Charm and I looked at each other and smiled.
