As my father and I pulled up to the clubhouse, I felt my heart leap into my throat. I didn't think I was ready to see everyone again. They all felt like I abandoned my father when he needed me most, and were mad at me when I first left for school this year. But they understood that I couldn't undo my mother's decision to leave the both of us, so they quickly got over it. My father could tell I was nervous so he reached over and grabbed my hand and rubbed my knuckles.
"It's okay, honey. Everyone's here because they love you and are so proud of you." he said, slightly comforting me as we pulled into the clubhouse. As he parked the car, I could see Aunt Gemma approaching the car with a huge smile on her face.
"Oh Addison, I'm so happy to see you. It feels like it's been so long. Oh, you look beautiful!" She said as she kissed my cheeks and hugged me close to her.
"Thanks, Gemma. I'm happy to be back!" I said with a huge grin. I couldn't believe I was back, and hearing what Gemma had to say made me feel welcome all over again.
All of the guys were there, Tig, Chibs, Piney, Opie, Juice and a few other faces I wasn't quite so familiar with. I looked around the place to see if I could find Jax, but he was no where to be found, and I shrugged it off, trying to pretend it didn't bother me. As we made our way to the clubhouse, I could see balloons and a grill and coolers. It was a private party, which meant that anyone who was of any importance to the club was there, to show respect. All my life, I was surrounded by these guys and didn't really realize how big of an impact they actually made on my life. The younger members and prospects were always there to goof around with, and the older members were there for guidance and protection from the unknown.
"Well I'll be damned, if it isn't little Addison!" a loud voice boomed. I turned in the direction of the voice to be greeted by Clay. Being one of the few daughters of the club, Clay had a soft spot for me. In all the years I was in Charming and getting in trouble, he would be the man I would call.
"Hi Clay," I said with a smile on my face.
"How are you? I can't believe it's been so long since I've seen you. You're so grown up." He replied back, taking me into his arms and hugging me.
"I'm great, just re-settling back into the ways of Charming."
"Well if you need anything," he said narrowing his eyes, "just call me. You know I'm here for you."
"Thanks, Clay. Means a lot." I replied.
As Clay walked away, I felt my heart skip a beat and I felt like someone's eyes were glued to my ass. I turned around ready to yell when I noticed who it was.
"Addison?" Jax questioned, looking a little shocked. "I never thought I'd see the day when Addison Munson would set foot in Charming again."
"Well today's the day." I nervously chuckled, shocked that he was checking me out.
This was gonna be one hell of a party.
