*James' P.O.V.*
"Hey there," I told Kristen, leaning on the wall. "What about we go to the movies on Friday? Just you and me... and some popcorn." I told her with a wink. She rolled her eyes and slammed her locker door shut.
"No, James." She said, as she started to walk away.
"But, why?" I asked her, as I followed her with my puppy dog face on.
"Because, I don't I don't like you like that," she said. "I hardly even know you, James."
"But you can get to know me!" I whined. "I mean, who wouldn't want to get to know this?" I said, winking once more.
"No means no." She said, stopping at her classroom. "I'm sorry, but I just don't think of you that way." She opened the door to her class and walked in, leaving the door slamming shut in my face.
I let out a big sigh and looked wistfully at the door. "You will be mine, Kristen Smith, you will be mine!" I half-yelled, half-talked.
"Awe, what's the matter, James?" Carlos said, appearing from out of nowhere and clapping his hand on my shoulder. "Can't get the girl?" He teased.
"What?!" Logan yelled, mock shock lined in his voice. "James? Not getting a girl? Thats... Thats... Thats..."
"Unheard of!" Kendall finished Logan's sentence for him. "How can James Maslow not get a girl?" I shrugged.
"She just doesn't want this." I told them. "I really don't understand how she doesn't want, THIS." I said, pointing my fingers at my face. "I mean, look at me, I'm beautiful!"
"Woah, guys, look out," Carlos started. "If James can't get a girl, looks like the rest of us are screwed!"
"Oh hell yeah we are!" Logan shouted. We all started laughing. "Hey, man, what is it about this girl? You've been going after her for almost a month now. You don't even stick with a girl that long. But now you're chasing after her and its a month."
I shrugged. "I dunno, man," I said, running my hand through my hair. "There's just something about her. She's nice, pretty, sweet..."
"James," Kendall said. "There's plenty of girls out there like that." He told me.
"Yeah, there might be, but there's just no one like her." I told him. "She's just... Different than everybody else." Just then the bell rang. We all said our good-byes to each other and went to our own classes. I had English. I walked in and took a seat next to Dustin, Kendall's best friend.
"Hey man," I said.
"Hey," he said, giving me a smile. That's all we really got to say to each other before Mrs. Kriz started explaining our assignment for the day. Mrs. Kriz was a old lady who still seemed to love teaching and spoke of everything that has to do with English with a huge passion.
"All right everyone. Today I want you to connect with the artistic side of yourself. Write a song, a poem, a play, something that expresses something. A feeling, your current situation., anything! It will be due by the end of class tomorrow. I look forward to reading them all, now, go!"
We all set off to work on our projects. I pulled out a notebook and a pen from my backpack. When I looked over to Dustin I saw that he was already writing.
I hit him with my elbow lightly. "Hey, what're you writing about?" I asked him.
"I'm writing a song, what it's about... I'm not exactly sure of yet." I looked over at it. All it said was chicken. Over and over again. I laughed. "What are you gonna write yours about?" He asked me.
