Chapter 9 (part 2)

[Namjoon's POV]

"She didn't make it".

My whole world collapsed. My knees gave up. I can hear cries all around me, saying the same thing - "No!"

Jin ran after Ri An, who immediately fled the room when the news came out. "Ya, where do you think you're going?" He yelled as he spun Ri An around on her heels, revealing her crying face.

"I-I'm so- all of this- me. You guys won't-" Ri An started bawling.

"No one said this was your fault," Jin's eyes got teary as he pulled Ri An in for a hug. "You can't leave us now, don't leave now."

A day later...

[Narrator POV]

They all stepped out the black van. The girls walked up to the chairs on the hills while the boys carried the casket. It was such a sunny day but it seemed gloomy in the hearts of these thirteen.

After singing songs and bringing up flowers to the coffin, they came up one-by-one to give speeches.

Jungkook
"If there was ever a kind, loving person I've met, it was Hee Young. She helped brighten up the hearts of others, she was willing to accept my selfish request, and now why are we here? Because, sadly, she thought she was doing what was best for us. Us, not her. She always put others before herself and if I could change anything about her, I wouldn't.

Ha Eun
"To be honest, I never really got to know Hee Young. I was always warned that she will ruin something and I saw how the girls envied her. I think we were jealous of the wrong person, we should have been jealous that these boys had the chance to meet such a wonderful person. I admit, I wish I had known her more because there's not many people in the world like Hee Young."

Hoseok and Taehyung
"I was planning on coming up alone, but this one over here is a crybaby," Taehyung pointed at the crying Hoseok. "I have to say, I didn't see much people smiling or laughing at that. We shouldn't be sad, we should be happy and celebrate Hee Young's life. If I knew her well enough, which I do, I would know she'd probably throw large pieces of hail down from heaven with how wimpy and gloomy some of you are. I just hope that soon, we all can find the comfort to laugh again. Cheers to Hee Young!"

"We have no drink pabo!" Jin replied.

"I was making sure you were paying attention!" Taehyung laughed.

Namjoon and Namin
"Tae is right, we really should be smiling and living our lives. Live our lives in honor of Hee Young." -Namin

"I've never met anyone so kind. I really have never met someone like Hee Young. I just want to thank the heavens for giving me such an angel. And even though we didn't turn out like the way I imagined-" Several people coughed in the crowd and everyone laughed. "I still have Hee Young in my heart. One day, we all will stretch out our wings like a butterfly and be in the sky with her as one." As they walked down the stage, Namjoon kissed the coffin and whispered, "One last time." -Namjoon

Yoongi
"Before, I couldn't open my eyes to see. Literally. And Hee Young came by and helped me with that. Those days when I snoozed off in the back of the class are long gone. I want to be awake, I want to live for Hee Young and if they were things I could take back, I would. The fact that Hee Young, or anyone here, never saw me as a bad guy whose unthoughtful actions potentially lead to these past string of events tells me that I'm welcomed to stay here. That I'm loved here, and I thank you all." -Yoongi

Jimin
Jimin hopped unto the stage and started yelling, "Ya! Namjoon, Hee Young is my friend and you can't take her! How dare you all get to say nice things about her before me!" His attitude helped brighten the place up. "But to be serious, I haven't met such a caring and bright person like Hee Young. It's not everyday that you get a new, pretty, kind transfer student to sit next to you in that empty chair reserved for the dust bunnies. I wish I had more time with Hee Young but God chooses the pretty flowers first."

Hoseok
"I have to come back because I realize I didn't say anything when I was here. I want to thank God for letting Hee Young spend her precious time with us. We didn't have a lot of time but each second she wasn't there, it seemed like a year. Thank you Hee Young!"

Ri An and Jin
"I know half of you are probably wondering 'how dare she walk up this stage', 'why did she even choose to open her mouth', 'why doesn't she just leave'. I don't know why I'm here either... to be here for Hee Young, I'm not worthy of it. I really feel horrible for what I've done to her and the others. My bitterness is to blame for all of this. I really wish I wasn't blessed with such a sweet spirit like Hee Young or such kind people like you all." -Ri An

Jin pulled her in and Ri An hid herself in the crook of his neck. "Hee Young came here for a purpose. She knew how we were and sadly, she thought this was the best outcome. She didn't die in vain. She's spread love and kindness to even the darkest people, including me. I want to think Hee Young for all that she's done and for changing my ways and my life forever. She didn't die in vain, let's live on for Hee Young." -Jin

Kandi and Sora
"I don't think I've ever met a person like Hee Young. Whether you were near her or not, you can see a bright atmosphere radiating from her. She deserved the best of life and I hoped she received that." -Kandi

"I'm so sorry. If there was a way I could ever redo life or go back in time, I would start from the time I met her. She never deserved what I've done to her. I'm sincerely sorry." -Sora

1 week later...

[Taehyung's POV]

We all had to continue with school and our lives, but we all did so in a gloomy way. None of us are better but it doesn't take even a month to heal from losing someone special.

I placed my head on my hand. Ahh, I have a headache just thinking about her funeral. "Wait... how come Hee Young's parents or family wasn't there?" I asked.

"Oh, her funeral?" Jimin replied, "I don't know either..."

"Last time I checked, her only family was her mother and father and they moved recently." Namjoon jumped in.

"I don't know..." I repeated.
