~ Scarlett’s POV ~
I opened the door of my house, Callie and Destiny behind me.
I told Mason not worry and just go home, once he dropped us off in my car. He hesitated a bit, but at the end he gave up.
"Aunt Jenn? I'm home!" I yelled.
I heard a low voice coming out of the living room. She must be on the phone.
"Let's wait for her here." I suggested and they nodded.
A few moments later my aunt came bursting in.
"Are you okay?!" she hopped to my side and put her hand on my forehead. “The school principal just called, telling me that by the time he got to the halls you guys were already gone.”
I tried removing her hand from my head. “I’m fine. It was just a little headache. Nothing to worry about.”
Behind me Callie and Destiny snorted. I shot them a glare that said agree-with-me-or-I-will-make-you-regret-the-day-you-were-born. Of course, it was a bit drama queen, but I knew my aunt more than enough.
“Um, yeah. She just needs an aspirin,” they said awkwardly.
“You sure you don’t need a doctor?” Jenn asked, removing her hands from me. “The principal said that the kids kept assuring him that you were screaming.”
“Well it was a nasty headache,” I murmured but loud enough for her to hear.
“But I’m fine now!” I quickly added once I saw the look on her face.
“I’ll get you the aspirin.” aunt Jenn said not really believing me. “You guys sit. I’ll bring some juice along.”
We listened to her and sat on the couch. I rested my head on the pillow next to me. Jenn came with a plate, with glasses, a big juice box, water – for me, most likely – and an aspirin. She placed the plate on the coffee table in front of us, and started pouring juice in to the glasses. She handed the juice to Callie and Destiny.
“Thanks Miss Jensen.” Destiny and Callie said simultaneously. Jensen was my mother’s maiden last name.
“How often do I have to say? Call me Jenn. I feel old when I’m called miss.” she smiled. “And water for you.”
I smiled and nodded her a thank you before I gulped down the aspirin and water.
“Now are you sure you-“ she started but I cut her off.
“I’m fine. I don’t need a doctor.” I said. “You are being over dramatic.”
She sighed. “Fine. But if you need any help, just call me. I have to go to work. They just paged me.”
Aunt Jenn grabbed her bag and got to the door, sending us and air kiss and then she left.
“What does your aunt do for living again?” Destiny asked.
“She’s head of the Department of Cardiovascular Diseases.” I explained.
“Heart diseases?” Callie asked.
I nodded. “Sometimes I wonder how does she make it.”
“Agree,” Destiny nodded.
We stayed silent for a few minutes and the silent was starting to pump loudly in my ears, so I decided to break it.
“Okay, I’m not gonna spend my day like this, so what are we going to do?” I asked impatiently.
They both frowned, but suddenly Destiny looked like her face was lighten up by a light bulb.
