Chapter 5: Caring

NARU's POV

I am right here, standing at my balcony, but... As my mom would say... I have to be strong, I cried and cried, seeing what happened, my mom passing away, my dad cared less for me now.

As I remember... Why am I in my castle? Was I supposed to be at my dorm? I flickered my hair to my shoulders, upon doing so, an arriving carriage just appeared coming in the castle.

Maybe it's one dad's friends, as expected an king, came out of the carriage, as I was looking down at the scenery, cause' I was at my balcony, my dad approached him, they greeted each other, then someone came out of the carriage.

A boy... A prince, maybe it's the king's son, my father greeted the fair prince, the prince smiled in return, he looked like someone just around my age though,but I feel younger...

The prince came to notice me, and looked up to see, the king followed the direction where, his son is staring. the king stared at me in a pointing look, my father noticed.

I heard them laughed, and talked, eventually they came in the castle, I was still looking down, the prince was still there outside, we're both looking at each other though.

It's giving me some feeling, that I would enjoy this visit from another kingdom...

Im sitting down, at the dining table, the king, and my father, are obviously childhood friends.

My father sat at the center, the king was beside him on the left, I was on right, then beside the king was his son, the prince.

Dad:"Well it's a pleasure to see one's familiar face, is it Daniel?"
King Daniel:"Hohoho~ that's right Nathaniel, I really ought to see that 'clumsy' self of yours!" He chuckled.
Dad:"Don't go to far about my personality, Daniel, people were ought to change."

They both laughed, the heck... Old people's conversations... Heh, I always hear them, but even though I always kmown what kind of topic old people likes, yet it's pretty confusing.

Like my father he's kinda old, though... Hehehe... I looked at the window, seeing what mom would be like, if she's here right now, joining the conversation, and eat dinner here with us.

King Daniel:"Hmm? Well Nathaniel, you sure have the top to it!" He smiled at me.
Dad:"Hmm? What do you mean, Daniel?"

King Daniel, pointed at me.

King Daniel:"I congratulate you! And your wife! GOOD JOB! Hohoho~!" He was obviously refering to me, eh?
Dad:"W-What do you mean? .... hohoho same old Daniel." He finally get it.
King Daniel:"As you know my son, Prince Gabriel, likes to know, and discover places."
Gabriel:"D-Dad..."
King Daniel:"So he tagged along with his old man." He patted Gabriel's back. "Oh and, Nathaniel, where's your wife? Is she okay?"

Father didn't told him yet? Mom passed away weeks ago! Due t-to... a crash, when visiting a neighboring kingdom.

Dad:"N-No worries, s-she's fine, just a little bit of sleep, hoho." I felt guilt in his tone,he looked at me, I glared at him.
King Daniel:"I hope she's genuinely fine."

Dad... He lied about mother, how dare he, long ago, when he got the news about mom, he shut himself for days. He didn't even gave mom a funeral.

Either tell the other kingdoms, that Queen Talia, is dead, at that incident, he believed she was still alive.

Cause' finding the fact her body dissapeared, a paradigm didn't know what happened to her!

It defecit the amount of me caring for my life, cause' mom, she's very kind, loving and sensitive, she's like a bestfriend to me.

Cause' back then, at Princess Prep, no one will even be close to me, I cried every night about that.

But she's always there... For me, and my dad.

It just broke all of my thoughts. A voice was calling out my name, I closed my eyes, and opened it again.

My dad held my hand, near to him.

Dad:"Naru? Dear, are you okay?"
Naru:"I-I'm really sorry dad, I-I... I should go..."
King Daniel:"hmm?"
Dad:"Okay, honey, sleep well."

Dad's attention came back to King Daniel, which King Daniel I noticed, became suspicious of me. Is he threatening me? Or some sort...

I didn't mind at all, I just ignored it, to mitigate the situation.

Sitting here at the balcony, watching the moonlight, I have nothing to tell, I somehow learn how men do stupid things, and some women have to hate. Like dad.

He doesn't care about me anymore, I folded my arms, in deep thoughts, till' a knocking sound came up to my intentions.
