Under the Lilac Tree {Sirius Black}

Our Little Secret

Cleo had been having a rough nigh sleep on a couch in the common. She could not sleep in her own dorm room because the girls in her dorm where making fun of her for not having any friends that where girls. She was finally about to fall asleep, when someone's footsteps woke her up. She looked up to see a familiar figure walking in the direction of the portrait hole. She rolled onto her stomach and peered over the arm of the couch.

"Sirius? Where are you going?" she asked. He jumped at the sound of her voice, clearly not expecting anyone to intervene with his not-so-sly escape of the common room.

"Oh! Cleo its just you." he said with a sigh of relief. "And I'm going on an adventure."

"Can I join?" She asked, perking up.

"No." he said bluntly.

"Why not?" She said sticking out her lip in a pout.

"Because I said so." And with that he left.

But the truth was that Sirius did want Cleo to go.  He just didn't want her to get in trouble. He watched as she disappeared from his sight as the portrait hole closed. He stood there in front if the painting for a few seconds before saying the password again. As Sirius walked through the portrait hole, Cleo turned her head to see him.

"Come on." he said to her.  Cleo smiled and quickly got up and ran to her dorm. She put on a pair of boots and pulled one of her favorite jumpers over her head. She stepped out of the her room, but stepped back in a moment later to grab her wand and a small silver marble  and slipped it into her pocket.  Then she ran back down to join Sirius.

"I thought you said I couldn't come?" she said to Sirius as they walked.

"I changed my mind." he said simply.

"Good enough for me." She shrugged.  "Where are we going?"

"You'll see." He said looking ahead.

"Full of secrets are we?" she raised a eyebrow at him.

"What's that?" He said eyeing the small marble she was rolling in her hand.

"Oh,it's nothing." She said shoving it back into her pocket quickly.

"Now who's full of secrets?" He said with a cheeky grin.

"Your real proud of that, aren't ya?"

"You have no idea," Sirius said with a look that showed he had just impressed himself.

They had been walking for a couple of minuets in silence before anything happened.  They where on the third floor when they ran into some trouble.

They rounded a corner, and they saw Filch. His back was to them and he was talking to Ms. Noris.

"They are somewhere close my sweets... keep looking..."

Sirius grabbed Cleo's hand and started to run in the opposite direction. They ran down what seemed like every corridor in the castle before they stopped.  There was a moment of silence before either said a thing.

"That was fun." Sirius said.

"I don't know what your definition of fun is, but it is not the same as mine." Cleo said still catching her breath.

"Okay, true.  Let's go."

"Where are we going exactly?" Cleo asked.

"I told you, you'll see."

"Uuuuuuuggggghhhh!" Cleo groaned loudly which made Sirius cover her mouth with his hand.

"Not so loud!" Sirius whisper yelled. Do you want to start running again.
