Ch.7- An Evil Smile?

-I want to notify you guys in advance that the period of time they'll be at the X Factor is most likely not how long it actually is. I don't really know how long all of it lasts so just bare with me please!-

-wesley's pov-

I kept replaying in my head what I said to Ash last night. About how I'd make her mine. She never objected so maybe I have a chance?

But then again, I just walked out. She didn't really have time to argue against it. Haha oh well.

Today we're all leaving for the X Factor. I'm so excited that we'll finally be able to show the world what we love doing. And if we don't make it past auditions, I won't be mad. I'm just happy we even have the opportunity to do something like this. I have to stay positive. Me and Keats are heading over to Drew's right now to get prepared. We're all driving in one car.

Finally, once we got to their house we walked right in. I saw Drew in the kitchen eating cereal.

"Hey bro. Ready for today?" I asked going up to him.

"Yeah. I'm so stoked dude. We're gonna make it past auditions. I know it," he replied.

I nodded. "How 'bout you little bro? You good?" I asked gesturing towards Keaton.

"Yeah. I'm a little nervous, but this is gonna be so rad," he smiled. I returned the expression. I looked at the two and pulled them into a hug. I'm just so grateful to have them in my life. I don't know what I'd do without them.

We pulled away from the hug and just talked. "Hey where's Ash?" I asked.

"Oh she's upstairs with Austin. They're really good friends now. You two are gonna like him. Especially you Keats. Don't worry he's not taking your place," Drew said to both me and Keaton. Keaton nodded and smiled. He knows no one could take his spot. He's like the most important person in her life. Well, after Drew of course.

I felt a ping of jealousy and nodded. "Well we should get going. It's a long drive."

"Yeah lemme get Ash," Drew said. "AAASSHHHLLEEYY WE'RE LEAVING!" Drew yelled from the bottom of the stairs.

"I'M COMING! STOP YELLING!" she yelled back from the top. I laughed at how annoyed she got.

Austin came walking down the stairs with Ash on his back. There goes my jealousy again. They were both laughing to the point where they couldn't breathe. After a few minutes, the laughing died down.

"Ok. So Austin, these are the other two guys that I was talking about non-stop. This is Keaton, my absolute bestest best friend," she said and winked at him.

"And this is Wesley, but call him Wes. This is my other best friend. And...um...the one I was like talking about earlier," she whispered the last part and blushed. What? She was talking about me? Oh gosh. I wonder what she was saying.

"Nice to meet you Keaton," Austin said with a genuine smile. Keaton returned the gesture and did the bro hug thing.

"And nice to meet you too Wes," Austin said. At at first I just noticed his smiling, but then I saw anger flash in his eyes. What? Maybe it's just my imagination. I did the bro hug thing with him too.

"Ok, so I don't know when we'll be back. It depends on how long they stay in the competition. So...I'll see you soon," Ash said to Austin. She looked really sad.

"Ok. I'm gonna miss you so much. Call and text me everyday," he pulled her into a hug.

"Ain't nobody got time fo dat," Ashley replied. They looked at each other and instantly started cracking up. I couldn't help but laugh too.

"Haha I'm joking. Of course! I'll text you like right when I get in the car," Ashley said. He nodded and gave her one last hug.

"Love you!" he said before walking out the door.

"Love you too!" she replied. He smiled and walked out. Jealous jealous jealous jealous jealous jealous.

"Ok y'all lets go!" Ashley exclaimed. She ran out the door and straight into the car. I guess I'm stuck with carrying her luggage. I walked out to the car and placed all my stuff and all her stuff in the trunk of Drew's recently purchased Range Rover.

I climbed into the backseat with Ash so Drew and Keats could sit in the front. She was on her phone and I slightly looked over at the screen. It said: "Miss you already. I'll call you when we get there<3"

That was obviously to Austin. Again jealousy. But at least I know they're not gonna date. She made it clear there was no connection. I can't get over the smile he gave me though. It was one of those smiles where other people around see just a nice smile. But if you're on the other end of it, you can see it's almost...evil. Yeah that's a good word for describing it. He gave me like an evil smile. But I'm not gonna tell Ashley. She probably won't believe me.

After about 5 more minutes, she put her phone down.

"Well hey there Wes!" she said. She wasn't phased by what I said to her last night. Thank god.

"Hey. You excited?" I replied.

"Of course! You guys are amazing! You're gonna do great. Simon and the other judges are gonna be mind blown!"

I smiled. I mean, I know we're good, but the fact she thinks we're, "amazing," makes me feel 1000000000x better about the auditions.

"Thanks. I'm glad you get to be apart of our journey," I replied. She smiled at me. Her smile is the most beautiful thing in the world, well along with the rest of her. Her smile brightens up any situation you're in. Whether sad, mad, annoyed, or frustrated. She's just perfect.

I was brought back to reality when I heard two car doors slam. "Ok guys. Here we go! Our first step to forever," Drew said. I smiled.

Drew started the car and drove out of the neighborhood. I felt Ashley intertwine her fingers with mine. And I thought to myself, nothing could make this moment any better.
