Chapter 3: The Message [A]

Here i am. Sitting at the back of the bus where the loudest people sit. Yet it feels so quiet here. Listening to Afraid by The Neighbourhood.

When i wake up, i'm afraid somebody else might take my place. When i wake up, i'm afraid somebody else might end up being me.

Yes, having somebody else take your place is scary. But i think there's one thing that i scare the most. Invisible. I don't know about what most people think, they probably think that this is stupid but to me it's not.

Relating the word "invisible" to my life is more depressing than i thought it would be. The thought of having no one even notice presence killed me. Gosh even i feel like people don't know that i exist anymore. My mom who is at work 24/7, my dad who basically just send me presents as a father-daughter bonding time, even Isaac who i think that keeping more distance as days go on. I was staring at the window when someone taps my shoulder. Lily.

"How long have you been sitting next to me?"

"I just sat here. Jeez! Anyway, what's with Daniel, he was staring at you all the time yesterday? Not to mention, a little birdy told me that you talked to the Isaac Danes yesterday after music class." She asked me and wiggling her eyes while smirking at me.

"So here's what really happened..." We talked untill we finally arrived at school. We get off the bus an get to our locker separatedly.

I open my locker and i see something that caught my eyes. The Wonder Years album. Specifically the "No Closer to Heaven" one. The one that Daniel bought yesterday at the store i'm working at.

*flashbacks*

"Don't be so happy. I was forced to do this. Anyway, who is the album for?"

"How do you know it's not for me?" He asked me with his weird hurtful face

"Well, i know you're not the type of guy who listen to this type of music. You're more like the guy who listen to anything on the radio" i chuckled slightly

"Well, you are infact right. I'm more of a lady pleaser. But anyway it's for the girl i'm trying to get close to. She loves them. So what do you suggest?"

*flashbacks ends*

Yesterday's event suddely come clear to me. I remember perfectly when he said that it's for "the girl that he's trying to get close to." I noticed something from the album, a post it note. That said:

Come meet me at the bleachers at the football field at lunch? xx

P.s. It took me 10 bucks to bribed a guy from the tool store to break into your lockers. Sorry for invading your privacy;)

It's finally lunch break. I decided to go meet Daniel at the pitch.

"Hey, i didn't know that you would actually came"

"Hello to you too mr. I break into other person locker and cheesily put in her favourite album because apparently she is the girl he's trying to get close to"

"Hey! You remembered" he goofily smile at me and chuckled at the same time

"Yeah" and then there's an awkward silence between us for about 5 minutes.

"Why do you need me here for anyway?" I asked

"So what's with you and Isaac?" My eyes light up as i heard his name came up

"Isaac? As in Isaac Danes?" I asked him just to make sure we're on the same page here

"No, i was talking about Sir Isaac Newton. Of course Isaac Danes" i laughed at his sassy remarks

"What do you mean by me and him? There's nothing going on." Oh well, i wish there is something between me and Isaac.

"You know, i was watching you two having a chitty chat after music class, and after you left i saw him smiling to himself."

"Really? He did that? Wait! How did you know i was taking music class?" I was glowing because i just know the fact that it's not just me, but he also smiled after that small chit chat after the music class. I'm also slightly annoyed the fact that Daniel knows my schedule.

"Well that darling, is something for me to know and you to find out"

"You're annoying" i said as i ruffling his hair. He pouted and i laughed.

After a long silence, he finally breaks the silence with something unexpected.

"Now that i know that you don't have anything going on between you and Isaac, would you maybe go on a date with me?" He asked unsurely

"Hmmm... I don't know Dan, i'm pretty busy, i have to have enough sleep so.." I answered him teasingly

"Oh come on Ann!" He's kicking the air to prove how annoyed he is

"Okay okay! Chill. Just text me the deeds. Here's my number" i wrote my number on his notebook.

"Thanks Ann" he kissed my forehead and left me.

What the hell did i just get myself into?!

Sorry i haven't updated this story in so long. I've been busy with national exams and i get the results in few days which is nerve wracking.
