four months before
parker played with her pencil as she waited for homeroom to start.
she tap, tap, tapped on the desk. it was a pretty good beat too.
not everyone seemed to think the same since someone threw a wad of paper towards her head.
parker didn't even flinch— only went back to tapping. her friends did the dirty work.
the boys threw one, they threw twelve.
"guys, that's enough. i don't feel like getting in trouble today," she grunted.
all of a sudden, the room was filled with squeals.
parker snapped her head up in hopes that this would be a one way ticket to leaving class early.
all she saw was mr. joel. boring, old, mr. joel.
oh, and a silhouette. but it was probably just a new student. a boring new student.
everything was boring.
the room became silent. parker doodled on the desk, drawing a fire breathing dragon.
someone tap, tap, tapped on her shoulder.
"that's a really good drawing."
parker winced, keeping her eyes glued to her next masterpiece. "don't touch me."
the boy widened his eyes and muttered out a flustered sorry before asking, "can i sit here?"
why was he still talking to her? why weren't her friends telling him the rules?
you don't talk to parker unless parker talks to you.
"do whatever. as long as it involves you not talking to me anymore."
mr. joel closed the door.
"students, i'm sure you're well aware now, but i'm a sucker for introductions. please welcome our newest addition to wemley high school: shawn mendes."
a chorus of gasps sounded the room.
parker looked up to see the one and only popstar sitting right beside her.
she scowled, returning back to her desk.
he's nothing more than a pretty face.
