There were millions of people sitting down. Just waiting to be sorted into their new jobs and some just to see. In a wreck. I'm so nervous. At least my too best friends.

"Every 17 year old line up in alfabetical number by first name." Said the announcer. Oh no I'm  going to be in the R section while Alex will be in the A section and Kat in the K section.

I walk to the R section and go next to this boy named Renal. My friend and I call him Renn. He likes it when we call him Renn because he says that it fells like he has friends. I kind of fell bad for him because nobody likes him, but I think he's cool.

"Hey Becca!" Said Renn.
"Hey Renn" I say.
"Scary is it? The Choosing, I mean"
"Yeah. Very."
"I just hope I don't get janitorial services." Said Renn. He really didn't like cleaning. His parents always made him clean. I know he wanted to be a airplane driver because they sleep and live at the flying institute. He wanted to get away from his parents as soon as possible.

"What do you want to get?" He asked me. I was dreading this question. I really didn't know what I wanted to be.

"I just want something different. You know. Something I don't normally do. I want an adventure. I'm not really smart. So I don't want anything to do with studying."

"I don't think there is anything that you don't need to study." Said Renn."which I'm kinda glad of." Renn was such a nerd. He loved studying and was so smart.

"Yeah for you but I was never good at that stuff."

"Maby you can be an airplane flyer or you can be in the army to protect the border. That's exiting."

"No it isn't. Where are we going to go? And no one ever crosses the border. There us no point in defending it." I say.

" Yeah well its away from home." He sighed

"I know you want to go away from home but you would be such a good doctor or engineer. You love building and learning new things."

He looked at me worried m I know he wanted to be one but I also knew he hated his house. This test would define our entire life's, just like it did every body else's. Every year.

"Welcome to the choosing center. We are proud to present our candidates of this year to get chosen for their new career and jobs." Said the announcer voice. "We will start in alphabetical order. First up is
Annabeth Abrocombrie."

I saw Anna sand up looking teriffied. She is also one of my friends. She walked to the front where two women were. She put her hand on the table. One of the women pinched her finger and put it on the detector. Then the other woman pressed the button and the sorting began.

"Institute for law degree and restriction!" Said the announcer. Anna beamed at her. She loved the rules and now she got to make other people follow them and create new ones.

She went back to her seat. Then the announcer called an other name.

"Betricia Ca--"

The whole stadium shook. All the light turned of. I heard a girl scream. It was the most scary screams I've ever heard.

This had only happened once. And that was when some one had tried to break the border.
