We all took one look out the door. None of us wanted to be believe it was true. The dark skies, the bodies laying everywhere, blood, fog, we all knew that mean't something, something we never expected to happen.
It sounded crazy to even say the word, but it was/had to be, "zombies".
We all thought it was completely impossible for that to be what was happening, but lately everyone seemed to know it was going to happen. If you were someone who didn't know or refused to believe that this wasn't what was gonna happen, well than you would basically be in our position right now.
The one day I decide to where my nice Jordan's, and there's blood everywhere. Not to mention the terrible smell, it seemed to smell like blood, eggs, and b.o.
We didn't have a clue what to do. All of our phones had not one bar of service. We found the nurses car and decided to go see if the police had any clue of what was happening.
When we got there all the windows were boarded up, with writing on it. It was hard to read, but we all figured out it had to say "no one is safe, and we can't help you". It was weird considering it was on a building that was supposed to solve our problems and keep us safe. We were about to leave when we saw a shadow in the one window not completely boarded up. Hazel, being the shortest climbed on the nurses soldiers and banged over and over on the window until someone finally open it. They just starred at Hazel for a while, than looked over at Alec and I with a puzzled face. It was like this person was studying us.
After a good five minutes the person finally spoke, with the face mostly covered by scarfs and doctors masks I couldn't tell if the person was a guy or girl. The person loudly yelled "you guys aren't safe standing out there looking clueless". Alec laughed and yelled back "well could you help us or should we just move on?"
The person laughed, and yelled back "I doubt by now y'all are gonna have anywhere else safe to go, so I guess start climbing In." We were all a little sketched out, but than again we also had no clue what was going on or what we should do, so this was the best option. Once we all got in the person shut the the window fast, almost taking off Alec's hand. The person took off all the masks, scarfs and layers they had.
We weren't suprised to see it was a guy. He talked and talked, asking if we got bit, saying we have to go right to the cleaning test room that they created, all of the different things we had to do if we wanted to stay here. Aparently there were others, and this was the only way to keep everyone safe. Absolutely none of it made sense to me.
Where am I? What's really going on? Are we under some kind of attack? I continued on and on with questions acting like I knew how to answer them. As I said on question in my head in came more and more. The most important 2 to me were kept racing threw my head so much that I barely listened to the guy going on and on. Where were the rest of the people from my foster home, all the kids, adults, volunteers? An was I ever gonna see them all again alive? I felt like this was all a joke, or some kind of dream.
After speaking for almost an hour about what sounded like nonsense the guy finally said his name, "Mark". He said once we all got inspected and were passed as cleaned we could meet the others.
I didn't feel really safe here, it gave me weird vibes. The guy, or should I say Mark, made us 4 sit in chairs out side of this all white room.
One by one we were sent in and sent out, an every time it got closer to being my turn I thought about running out. But being out there, outside, with these creepy bloody things that would easily kill me, it made this place seem even safer.
When it was finally my term I trembled, almost bursting out in tears, but I didn't. Once I stepped in I was greeted by a really kind lady, asking how I was an all, it was comforting. She asked a few questions. Did I know what was going on? Was I to close to the zombie creatures? Did I get bit? Any cuts? Last time I ate? Where was I when the attack first happened? All of the question reminded me of the ones I asked in my head, hers seemed a little more person as she went on though.
After the questions she had me put this clear suit over my clothes and had me lay on what looked like a doctors table. She than ran this medal rod over top of the suit. The rod was hooked up to to a big white box looking thing filled with wires. As she did all of the "necessary checks" I wondered more and more how these people new this was gonna happen, how were they so prepared, how did they get all of the needed equipment, where did they even electricity?
The checks were done. I was told to wait outside of the other side of the door with the others who had finished so they could tell who was check and who was not. As our groups results were all in we were all cleared as safe, and got a tag we had to wear around our neck to be known as cleared.
We were shown to this giant room, it had couches, a few DVD players, weapons, an old fridge, tons of waters and gatorades, and other little supplies spread around. One of the main officials of what they called "the safe house" gave us a tour to all of the rooms.
There was the infants and mothers room, ages 2-5 rooms, 6-10 rooms, 11-15 rooms (which was ours), 16-21, 22-30, and so on. It was pretty crowded, and I recognized none of these people. We were also shown the first aid room with 2 doctors, the 3 bathrooms, the child training room, and the adult training room. The more we were shown the more that one question kept popping in my head. How did they know this was gonna happen? I mean they had to know, everything was set up so perfectly like it was planned months ago.
I didn't wanna train, sleep here, meet new people, and most of all be trapped her for maybe the rest of my life. I didn't like hiding, especially with a bunch of random strangers. Hazel was the only person here I really knew and knew that I could trust.
For once in my life, I just wanted to go back to my "home".
