The Pines girl counted the change on her counter, pulling out the smaller coins and putting them into paper rolls as she grabbed her purse. Carelessly tossing the rolls into the colorful bag, she took her keys and walked into the warm outside of the bright day. Humming to herself, she hopped into her car and headed down the road, counting all the red cars as she passed them.
~Mabel entered the bank, now singing out loud as she took a spot in line at the bank teller's desk. Just when the person in front of her had left, the brunette the door being kicked in harshly; the sound of breaking glass was then accompanied by a shrill scream. Mabel grabbed her purse and fell onto the wall beside her, clutching her chest in fear as a blonde man strolled through the broken door- a gun in his hand. She was petrified as the man came right beside her, pulling up the gun and threatening the banker. The teller's hands shook and her eyes watered as she gave him the money. All Mabel could do was stare. Once the strange man's bag was full he lifted it easily over one shoulder, looking around the bank with his chin in the air. He didn't look worried or phased at all when the police sirens began to blare, the officers' cars pulling up outside. No, he just looked around and around until his eyes finally landed on the girl trembling only a few feet away from him. His golden eyes pierced hers as he smiled. Mabel's heart stopped and she knew that this man could kill her without a second thought. He had targeted her and she knew she was done for. Mabel squinted her eyes, bracing herself for the impact of the bullet through her brain.
But the bullet never came.
She looked up, staring at the thief with confusion. The man smiled even brighter before winking at her and disappearing into the air.
By this time, Mabel only had one thought on her mind:
What the fuck?
