I stroked her soft skin. Her new body was not much different on the outside from what it had been before but she had an eerie wisdom etched into her jawline. That's what the Implantation did to you. Made you a genius over the 10 years of programming. It was odd that a person could just look wise. She was in standby mode for the first time after the operation. Her arms glowed with the lubrication fluid for her new joints through her shirt. We had replaced her bones with steel and titanium. Her hair was an ombre of brown to a blonde that was spread around her like a firework. She had a few braids behind her ears. She had always had her own style. I placed my hand on her stomach. I felt it rise and fall with each mechanical breath. We could be together forever now.
Her eyes fluttered. I stepped away and through the door behind me. The tests have started... the steel clasps shut around her arms and legs, along with a giant one around her stomach. As they clashed shut, she came completely out of standby mode and looked around.
I looked around. The room was completely white with trays and scalpels and other tools all around the room. Some were scattered on the floor and some on little carts like you would see in a room where surgery would take place. I attempted to sit up but I realized that there was a large metal clamp around my waist, wrists, and ankles. My black jeans bit into my legs under the clasps. I winced. I silently wondered where I was and if there was anyone else around.
I didn't remember anything from my past... the only thing I remembered was my name... Tillie. I also remembered things but I couldn't remember anything from my past... Fed up with being stuck, I yanked the steal clamps off of my arms. I sat up and ripped off the giant one around my core. I reached down to my feet and grabbed the cold steel. It was only a matter of second before I was standing next to the steel table I had been strapped to. I smirked... much too easy.
My knuckles hurt from being immobile for so long. I rolled my shoulders and walked to a shut door near one of the toppled over tables.
"Blaemp, Blaemp, Blaemp..." an alarm sounded and steel walls slammed down over my escape route. I whirled around to see the steel slamming to the floor all around me. A red light flashed above me. The walls began to come closer to the center of the room. They began to close me in and the room went black except for the flashing lights. I grumbled. What now?
I turned to the part of the closing walls where the door used to be. I walked toward the wall and swung a punch. There was a metallic clang and my fist ricocheted off of the wall. The metal on the wall rippled all the way around me and then the ripple met behind me and sent another spine shaking clang and the walls fell to the floor. The original white hospital walls were replaced with tan walls with long metal tubes projecting from them. all of the sudden, a glob of rough looking gray liquid fell out of each of the tubes. The tubes kept dripping until it was a steady flow of the gray globs. It flooded the floor and made my steps slower. The room was pretty large but the liquid was coming faster... and faster...
I made sluggish steps toward a door that I spotted behind me. It was clear across the room. I pulled my feet high to trudge to the doorway. I growled under my breath. It seemed like the door was getting even further away. My frustration turned into fury and I leaped out of the sludge and all of the sudden, I felt a shock in my feet and fire shot from them. I flew to the doorway with my rocket feet and stumbled through the doorway. I slammed into a wall outside of the hallway and slumped to the floor.
My vision was hazy as I stood. I braced myself on the wall for a second. I heard a chink of something being sharpened. I turned to see a slit in the wall. Then, another, and another, in a line on both walls of the hall. They were about three feet apart according to my calculations. As soon as I figured this out, sharp swords swung with millisecond intervals before the one behind it sliced through the air with a razor sharp zing to it. Crap...
The swords were so long, that they almost reached the ground. Their curved shape looked like something out of history but they were here none the less. I crouched into a racing position. Instinct told me that I needed to get out of here and soon a second later when a steel wall shut one of the ways I could have gotten out past the swords and it started pushing me forwards again like the ones in the room.
Cruuud... I thought to myself. Ok, let's do this. Still in starting position, I pumped myself up with encouragement and then ran. I had my shoulders in front of my knees as I sprinted. The wind raced past me and was cut to shreds behind me. There had to be at least a hundred of these "swords" swinging across the white hall which meant I had to run the distance of a football field. The world seemed to slow as the sharp plates of steel sliced their way behind me. It was an agonizing feeling because I knew that I might not make it... I sprinted for my life... so flipping close! I grunted and kept right on sprinting towards the end of the swords.
I had timed the sword's swings right for the most part. The last sword behind me sliced through the ends of my hair as I rolled to the ground under another closing wall. Dang it... I almost made it with everything. I pulled my hair around my shoulder to see a large hunk cut out of it. The rest of my hair was around waist length. Pfft...
The hall was white. A favored color I assumed. I sat on the floor breathing heavily and stared across the hall. A maze. That is what this was. A maze. A test. I rolled onto my stomach and pushed myself to my feet. I braced my hands on my knees and panted for a moment before I began down the hall again. There didn't seem to be any other "tests" in this area of the maze. Seemed... It's sort of funny how you are skeptical about being surprised by traps when you have been through a few that have almost killed you. I rolled my eyes. It was going to be a long day.
I walked down the hallway and a couple turns and stairwells. There were no more tests from what I could tell. I started into a jog to try and get out of this trap faster. They had tested my agility and problem solving so far whoever put me here. That was for sure. Now, they were testing me on durability. Annoying little buggers...
It wasn't long after I started jogging that I reached a dead end... Frap... what now?
"Hello Tillie."
I whirled around to see a man in a tux. I stood tall and attempted to hide my surprise and fear. I had to be smart. He looked as though he could laugh and then snap his fingers at those swords and they would fall to the ground quivering. His cold stare looked like he had been frozen stiff and had a meter stick shoved down his pants from how he walked. He held his hands clasped in front of him and had no apparent weapons on him. I looked him up and down. He smiled.
"Tillie, I have been waiting for so long. It's good to see your beautiful blue eyes again."
"How do you know who I am and who are you and what is this place and how did I get here and why should I trust you?" the word vomit was unrestrainable. The man smiled that awful cold half grin. "Why Tillie, why don't you see if you can remember?" he smirked.
"Hmm... last time I checked, I couldn't remember anything!" I snapped.
"You've always had an attitude. I like that." He cocked his head and spoke again. "I am Ciaran."
The name wasn't even somewhat familiar. I scoffed. How do you know so much about me when I know nothing about you Ciaran?"
Come with me and we shall see.
I shocked feeling came over me. His lips hadn't moved... I could hear it though. Yet not with my ears. He was in my mind...

Ok, so first chapter! Yay! Hey, by the way, look up the meaning of their names. You will understand why Tillie is called Tillie and why Ciaran is called Ciaran. I am so excited for this book. I think it will turn out great. Yayayayayay! I had to cut it a bit shorter though because I am publishing this at like 10 at night because I have been working on it for an hour because I randomly felt compelled to publish something since basketball season is over. Finally... It feels like forever. So I will probably be on a constant publishing schedule for a while until track starts. So ya. Yay. I am babbling a lot because I am tired right now so ya. Please comment a ton because I want to see if peple are actually interested in this sort of stuff. Soya. Yay, commebt, vote, and follow please
