Edward's P.O.V

I left the house with Emmett to go hunt. As soon as we were deep into the forest, we split up, each of us searching for our favorites. Listening to Emmett's thoughts I saw that he found a Grizzly and was now wrestling with his prey. I shook my head.Emmett could be so childish.

I turned east, hearing the sound of an animal heart and smelling a mountain lion. My preferred prey. As I ran nearer using my vampire speed, I began to hear another heart beat, a quieter heartbeat but definitely human. It's smell was extremely mouth watering and that was not safe for the human. My eyes were coal black and I wanted nothing more than to drink it's blood, but somehow I resisted the urge. I stopped running and walked at a human pace until I could almost see the human. I was about to take another step when I heard something. A whimpering. I looked down and saw that I was about to step on a baby.

The human. I picked her up into my arms, ignoring the shocks of electricity going through us and observed the small creature. It was a girl, she looked no more than about 2 months old. She was wrapped in a thin yellow cloth clearly left to die. I wondered why she wasn't crying. It was cold here in Forks, Washington and she had barley anything on her.

I saw something on her wrist and realized it was a gold bracelet, engraved with the name Isabella Swan on the front and a date, which was probably her birthday on the back. September 13. Though I hated to leave this baby for a second for some unknown reason, I needed to hunt. It wasn't safe for her to be near me in this condition, so I punched through a giant rock nearby, and put her in it.

I followed the mountain lion I had heard before I found the baby and traced its scent, just a few feet from the rock. I tried to feed just as quietly as I could to not wake the sleeping girl.

When I got back however, I saw that baby Isabella, or Bella (Isabella was a bit of a mouthful) had awaken. I picked her up and gasped.

Her eyes were amazingly beautiful. They were big and wide and innocent. And the color! They were a chocolate brown so marvelous and lovely! I felt like I was staring down right into her soul. She was beautiful, inside and out.

I cradled her to my hard, cold chest and ran inhumanly fast, back to Emmett. When he saw me, he cut to chase and stopped fighting with the bear and drank its blood. He came to me, all dirty and his clothes all ripped. Alice would kill him. I did not have a single drop of blood on my white shirt and looked the same as when I had left.

When Emmett was inches away and saw what I carried in my arms. Bella was sleeping again, so he couldn't marvel at her eyes like I did when I first saw them, but still seemed to love the the girl.

"Can I h-hold her?" He whispered quietly.

I nodded and gently handed the sleeping angel in my arms to him. He smiled at the girl, showing his dimples. After just a few seconds he already adored her, as had I.

"Aren't woo a pretty wittle girl," he cooed, speaking to her as if she were a puppy.

"Let's take her home," I said, reaching out for her. He willingly gave her back to me and we started running back home, leaving the forest behind us.
