Bente was a huge gaming fan, especially the Legend of Zelda. She had all games except Ocarina of Time. She looked all over for it, but Bente just couldn't find that game. Bente means 'one who is blessed'. As a Zelda nerd of course, she looked at it as blessed by the goddesses. So just for fun, she drew a golden triforce with a purple center.

Bente's parents were almost broke. Her mom found a new job, but they had to move. That meant changing schools. Bente's new school was Springer middle school with a stallion for they're mascot.

One week later, Bente dreaded it, but school is starting. Her first day wasn't bad. The next day, she decided to make at least one friend. She grabbed her stuff and walked to school. As she was walking, she heard someone say "Hi," She didn't think it was directed towards her. "Your Bente, right?" Bente turned around and saw a boy with a green sweater and blue jeans. He had green eyes that she couldn't look away from. She noticed a triforce necklace around his neck. "Yes." She said quietly. "I'm Ben." Ben said. "Hi, I like your necklace." She started to smile a little. "Thanks, you play Zelda too?" Bente nodded proudly. "Yes! I'm a big Zelda nerd! My name means one who is blessed. I always think of getting blessed by the goddesses." Bente lightly laughed at her silliness. The two saw the school ahead. "See ya later!" Ben said. Bente smiled and felt warm inside. He seems pretty cool, we might be good friends. Maybe one day we'll become more- wait what? Bente shook her head and continued into the building.

She thought about those green eyes all day. She got in trouble for dozing off a few times. She hurried out of the school and walked slowly home. She wanted to see Ben again. "Hey Bente!" Bente smiled and turned around and saw those gorgeous green eyes. "Hi Ben." Bente told him happily. "Can I call you Benny?" Ben asked. "Sure!"

When Bente got home, she snuggled her pillow like a giant teddy bear. Just thinking about Ben made her heart beat faster and her face warm up.

Bente woke up and got ready. She hurried out and slowed down when she got to the sidewalk. In front of her, she saw Ben with his head down and walking slower than usual. She caught up to him. "Ben?" He jumped a little and looked at Bente. There was a bad bruise on his face and she noticed he was holding his arm. She could tell he was trying to cover it up, but she saw the red leaking through his sweater. She pulled him aside. "What happened?!" She gave him a worried look. "D-Don't worry about it." He said looking down. "I won't tell anyone, just tell me. You can tell me anything." She pushed back the feeling of wanting to hug him because she knew she might hurt his arm. "A-alright. My dad can get angry easily. I made him too angry yesterday." Bente put her hand on his shoulder, "There has to be something I can do."

Over the weeks, Ben and Bente became closer and Ben had a new bruise everyday. She became too worried. On the way home, Ben gave her a copy of a N64 game. Ocarina of Time.

Six weeks later, he didn't come to school for a few days. Where was he, is he okay?

That night, her parents sat on the couch while Bente and her little brother Michael fought over a bag of Cheetos. Her parents were watching the news. She heard the name Ben. She looked at the tv. Her heart stopped, she began to cry.

Ben drowned.

She cried and cried. She was crying before they even went to the funeral. Weeks later, she was still depressed like what happened weeks ago happened the day before. She'd think about it and be so sad and angry. She'd play ocarina of time to calm down. On one night, she couldn't calm down, she wanted to avenge Ben. She turned on the water in the bathroom. The bath tub filled up until it was full. Bente rested in the warm water. She thought about the nickname Ben gave her. I like that name, Benny. Bente thought. Ben was all she could think about. What if...I joined him? Bente really wasn't thinking about that, was she? She slowly put her head under the water. She held herself underwater while the liquid flowed into her lungs.

A man sat on his couch, drunk. He heard a sound from his son's room. The drunk man walked up the stairs and saw a door with a green sign that said 'Ben's room, stay out' He opened the door and saw a girl. She looked like a ghost! She was very angry. The man felt a pain in his side and the girl smiled. He saw a dagger in his side and fell to his knees. She grabbed his hair and threw him down the stairs. He heard water running. He saw the girl holding a hose. She put it in his mouth and let the water run. He squirmed around then in a couple minutes he was deathly still. She smiled then faded away to find him.
