Another level of fear

Mother natures own alarm clock...

I chuckled as the wood's chirping birds and bugs sang their morning song right next to my ear. I stretched my arms wide and saw little squirrels stopping to look at me. Animals these days aren't scared of human beings.

I looked around and focused on human sounds. Nothing. I jumped down from the tree and walked towards the northwest like Alex told me to. I couldn't see what time it was but the sun was just up and the sky was bright and the birds were flying high up. I guess no rain today.

I walked some and ran some and arrived at some flat high grass plains. The morning breezed made the tall grass dance. I sighed and moved on to another part of the woods. The woods had more thicker trees that covered the bright hopeful sun. Great!~ Another level of fear  I gulped and entered the dark tunnel made of trees.

Alex P.O.V

"Shit!" I slammed the phone down on the table. The loud sound of an iphone cracking resonated in my room. I shouldn't of let her go. Just like that. Damn... If Elias hears about this he is going to flip shit. I can't believe this.

I looked at my surroundings as I frantically walking back and forth the living room. I unlocked my cracked phone, took a deep breath and dialed him. "Elias, Emma is lost in the woods. The last time I talked to her she was somewhere up in the mountains." I started walking back and forth again.

 I flinched at the silence..

Elias spoke easing the painful silence "So are you hurt?"

"I'm sorry and no, I'm okay" I replied quickly.

I looked at myself in the hallway mirror.

"I don't see any big bruises or feel any internal bleeding. Yes Elias, I'm going there. Of course.... I promise with my life.."

Emma P.O.V

"I don't want to walk here....or run" I muttered to myself as I look only ahead. I took deep breaths as I looked around and walked in a quiet steady speed. It felt like the more noises I made, it gave those bastards more signs to where I am. I hope they gave up on me.

"Crack......" The sound of a tree branch cracking. I looked towards the bushes where the sound came from. "Please Please Please be a rabbit or squirrel or..." I trailed off as voices of men came in from the distance.

Shoot. I didn't even look twice as I ran deep into the tunnel in hopes of the darkness covering my loud footsteps. The trees swayed and covered my vision, I couldn't figure out where I was running into. I used my hand to uncover the trees and branches. The trail became thinner and thinner and soon, I was standing in a large plain covered by thick trees and bushes. I closed my eyes and listened to the voices of men not far from my location.

Come On Emma, deep breaths.... in and out.

The plain was a large field that looked like a big circle. I couldn't sense where was the northwest. I gulped the last deep breath and ran into a opening between one of the trees and just ran. Of course, with the help of the tree branches and my own footsteps I couldn't run at full speed. But all I could do was to keep running into the woods. The sun was up yet, the trees was in darkness.
